concierge cabins boarding!!!

You will likely get a “recommended” time to board, but in reality you can arrive at your convenience. Be sure to partake in the special lunch for concierge class only in the main dining room, I believe they serve it until 1pm. Your cabin will probably be available by then, but before 1 you will not be able to go to it.

I think it's until 1:30 but I won't swear to it. We usually board around 11:30 and by the time we actually get on board it's close to Noon so we go to MDR for lunch..menu is limited but there's something for everybody and the chocolate mousse cake is divine!!

There was designated sitting area in the terminal hall for concierge class, but I would recommend getting to check-in at 10:30-11:00 because it seemed to me that lots of people ignored the sign and sat there anyway. When boarding began the concierge came and introduced herself, and then led us through the door to the ship. I thought the selections at lunch were fine. (Sailed 1/26, came home with pneumonia, but review is coming...)

We are sailing concierge class this cruise.

But, we will not be arriving at the port until at least noon, possibly later. So, will have to rush to make it in time. On which level of MDR is the lunch served?

Also, what is the latest we can arrive - is it 1:00pm or is that when they expect you to vacate the room?

With concierge class, you get priority boarding and while they may suggest a time to embark, you can get there as early as 10.30am. You are also allowed to disembark a little later, but I don't think it is as late as 1pm. I like the main dining room for my lunch upon embarkation.

I believe it's the main level, but it's not hard to discern. They'll be the only doors open, and a plethora of luggage doting the area.

I've found the concierge luncheon to be most pleasant. Certainly better than the buffet, IMHO. Wish Aqua had the same benefits.

Is this in Miami?

As tempted as I am to not chime in on the concierge lunch so as not to increase the number of people attending, I found being able to eat lunch in the MDR on embarkation day to be absolutely fantastic! I hate the crowds at the buffet when everyone is trying to eat at the same time. Previously, I would pay the additional nominal charge for Bistro on 5 when there were crepes to avoid the crowds at that time, but not interested in Sushi on 5. The concierge lunch is nothing special as far as food other than what you would get for lunch on sea days in the MDR, but being able to sit at a table and experience the staff in the MDR early was great. We had the lunch on our last cruise and found our favorite waiter and sommelier right away - requested them often for our anytime dining (Alaskan cruise, various port times, otherwise I like assigned dining). It is not the end of the world to miss it, but it was a relaxing way to start the cruise. It is on the main (lower) floor of the MDR. Enjoy!

It's on the lower level of the main dining room and don't worry about having to find it....every time we've boarded it's been on the same level and once they see your sea pass they escort you into the MDR. For lunch in the MDR I would say anything after 1 pm. and you might not get in. I wasn't sure when I originally said I thought it was 1:30 but another poster said 1:00 p.m.,and I would go with that because I wasn't sure! We've always boarded around 12:30 so I don't really know how strict they are with arrival time.

Regarding msteries post: I've never had a designated seating area for concierge passengers....I wonder if that depends on port. We've boarded in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Bayonne and San Diego and while they say you have separate boarding lounge with coffee and snacks I've never experienced that!

The separate lounge with snacks has only been on the final day of the cruise for disembarkation in our experience. I've never seen that on day one. We have been seated in a separate area to await embarkation however.

I believe that the separate lounge is for disembarkation.

Thank you both for clarifying that....we have experienced the separate lounge with snacks while waiting for our group to be called for disembarkation but some of their literature is a little ambiguous about boarding and I've never seen (or noticed) a separate lounge for embarkation....maybe we arrive at the wrong time because we're usually checked in and allowed to board right away. Also is it possible that because I use a w/c from curb to ship that I by-pass the separate lounge?

Just to clarify. In terminal 29 there was a seating area designated for concierge. Just a seating area, not a special lounge. Was nice to be gathered up and taken to ship. At debarkation, there was a special lounge with continental breakfast.

Does this include Aqua Class?

  • 4 weeks later...
when you book Aqua it states you are entitled to all the same concierge benefits with the addition of the AQ benefits? Would that not include that lunch?

Aqua does receive most of the Concierge Class perks, but not the boarding-day main dining room lunch.

Depending on where we are boarding, sometimes there is a place to sit for just Concierge class, sometimes CC and Aqua. In Miami, we had a place to sit that was shared with Aqua. Suites had a different place to sit, and got to board before CC and Aqua. Regular Veranda and below got to stand in line until Suites, Aqua and CC had boarded.

Our experience as well. We have boarded in FLL, MIA, San Juan, No two were alike.
