It is a quiet Saturday in Port Everglades with only two ships docking. The Nieuw Amsterdam will be at Pier 26 and is scheduled to depart at 16:00/4:00 PM EDT. Times are subject to change as always.

Also in port is Harmony of the Seas at Pier 18.

With the 2 ships right around the turning basin area, we should have some nice close-ups this afternoon - compared to the normal wide-angle that also includes #4 & #2.

Got up much too late this morning to see NA arrive. :D

This is the final Caribbean cruise of the season for the ship. Then a long repositioning cruise. I'm looking forward to the beginning of the Alaska season to get some insights into this year's standard onboard activities and services.

I read up on this ship. What would an explorer ship with advanced ice-breaking equipment be doing in a South Florida port? ? R&R?

Getting from one cold area of the world to another? I have been trying to figure out where she came from; it looks like she is heading north to New York and Canada and then across the Atlantic.

NA now listed as 1615/4:15 pm.

There MAY still be a chance for me. At 4PM Eastern time I plan to be standing above Crystal Symphony’s open bridge wing for a closeup view of our new captain at OUR Sailaway.
