Enchantment of the seas - aft jr. Suites

Recommended Posts

We are going on a 3 day Enchantment weekend cruise (mini consolation for long Pacific cruise which we had to cancel...)

Looking for opinions please from those with experience.

Junior Suite -

I have been trying to ascertain how 7166 is.... the balcony size and inside.

I found older posts that the balcony is big...; that the "deck plans" make that balcony and and the corner aft starboard JS seem smaller.

But I don't know if the ship was refitted and rooms redone since those posts.

I also read that there is a walk in closet in the corner afts but I am going to try to not overpack for 3 day cruise and fill the closet.... haha.

We also could have 7170...

Thoughts....

We had that stateroom once and the balcony is huge. You could easily put 20 people out there comfortably.

Thanks Bob - I assume you mean the corner aft is huge as I had referred to both 7166 (corner) and 7170 (another aft JS a few rooms over)...

would that be 20 large or skinny people? hahaha....

Yes, I meant 7166. Just a note that you may hear some music filtering through from the lounge below. 7666 is the mirror image and does not have as much noise from the lounge below.

Our own private dance club! (If it filters I sure hope its not hip hop...)

We were booked on the Ovation which got switched to the Explorer for Sydney to Singapore... we were price protected for Explorer and received OBC. Ovation from Sydney to Singapore would have been great, which is why I booked it...best laid plans.....

We had the opposite. No price protection. Ovation price was 3 times higher to get from Sydney to Seattle.

Great to hear that 7666 has less noise from the lounge below. We had seen pictures and some video of 7166 & 7666 online and liked the large balconies. We are booked B2B in this JS next February for my Birthday on the 13th and Valentine's Day celebrations.

This will be our first B2B. What's the disembarkation procedure on B2B's at PC?

You should get a letter in your stateroom with details of turnaround day. Normally you are asked to meet in a specific area at some specific time, usually between 9:00am and 10:30am. You may have to wait a bit until they get close to a zero count of guests still onboard. The entire B2B group will be escorted off the ship, to government agents to show your ID documents, and back on the ship. If this are going smoothly, this can be a short process, maybe 10 minutes. If things are not going smoothly (like some guests are taking longer than expected to get off the ship), you may have to wait a bit before you can get back on.

I've found it's a good idea to visit Guest Services sometime mid-cruise and confirm you are on the consecutive cruisers list.

Thank you for this information Bob.

We've been in 7666 a couple of times. The balcony pix above are accurate but the cabin pic is deceiving, IMO. It makes the cabin look much larger than it actually is. In reality, it is smaller than any other JS we have ever been in.

We felt it was long and skinny, almost like a regular balcony stateroom. But the walk-in closet was nice.

Have booked favorite cabin 7666 several times on EN. Was not available for my next EN cruise when she returns briefly to PC...so I booked 7166. Then 7666 came back up and switched. Guess I am just a creature of habit. ;)

Actually like starboard side better anyway for that nice view of the sunset coming out of PC as she turns south. :D

It was my mistake. I should have pointed out that this was a 12mm wideangle lens. It does have the that affect. I was hoping to show how many people can fit on the balcony and the decor of the cabin. Sorry about that.

Not sure if they are larger in square feet, but they are more square.

Thanks Bob - Last aft corner we were in was Rhapsody in South America. We loved the balcony size. And the views!!! I know the JS size staterooms on Enchantment are smaller than on Rhapsody but we are willing to give it a try for 3 days.

We've had JS staterooms on Vision and Legend for transatlantics, and they were fine, not cramped at all.

No worries, I wasn't blaming you, per se. Just mentioning for the good of the cause that it isn't as large as it may seem or as large as a lot of other JS. The balcony pic are accurate though, and we've enjoyed the space. You could have a family reunion out there!
