Riemercruisin Posted August 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2018 I have a question... Does MSC honor price drops after final payment like Carnival does? Question for US guests. Thank you.

No they do not and you will not get anything else in compensation, not the answer you were looking for but as they say it is what it is
sidari Posted August 4, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2018 The same applies to the UK, also cancel and re book and lose your deposit.

sfaaa Posted August 5, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 5, 2018 Ask yourself this. Why should they and short change themselves in the pocket?
Boschmann Posted August 5, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 5, 2018 My September sailing which is in full payment was placed into the Voyager's 5+15% area a few days ago, a price drop of sorts. I called my PVC and she said I had two options to try: 1) Upgrade to a new cabin and get the extra 15% off of that, or 2) Stay in my cabin and have her send a request for a discount to be applied as OBC or possibly a refund. Either had to be approved by a manager, she said the upgrade would be the best attempt. My upgrade was approved at the current discounted pricing. I think that is about as good as you can get. deliver42 Posted August 5, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 5, 2018 Except for carnival's Early Saver, I don't know of any line doing anything other than what MSC is offering.

deliver42 Posted August 5, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 5, 2018 They will offer an upgrade, maybe at a reduced rate, but no price drop on current cabin. We are talking about after final payment. With Carnival's Early Saver, you can get a price drop until the last minute.
Riemercruisin Posted August 5, 2018 Author #10 Share Posted August 5, 2018 Thank you, all. Think Carnival's Early Saver has me spoiled. 😂:')
deliver42 Posted August 5, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 5, 2018 Maybe the terms might have spoiled you, but the cruise line leaves a lot to be desired. In my opinion, MSC is head and shoulders over Carnival, and I've been on both. MSC Divina again coming this November for a 12 day.
pjhootch Posted August 5, 2018 #12 Share Posted August 5, 2018 Thank you, all. Think Carnival's Early Saver has me spoiled. 😂:') Perhaps, but the deposit is non-refundable, whereas my deposit on a MSC Mediterranean cruise is refundable up until 90 days before sailing. pjhootch Posted August 7, 2018 #14 Share Posted August 7, 2018 Not in the UK though ... Sorry. I assume once MSC has attracted enough US cruisers to Europe, they will stop adding attractive booking perks for us. In the meantime, this US cruiser appreciates it because I really wanted to cruise in Europe but was not interested in RCI or Norwegian.

abby1257 Posted August 14, 2018 #17 Share Posted August 14, 2018 They do when you book Early Saver promo. I remember a couple of years ago, on Carnival... my hubby and I had over $500.00 onboard credit between the both of us....it was great!
