bajathree Posted March 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Check out Royals new updated booking engine. Their new format shows greater room selection(depends on amount of cabins available per category) allowing you to view up to 15 available cabins at a time....allows you to search/check availability of connecting staterooms......and also now included is a "search for specific cabin" option as well as other enhancements. Rare NorbertsNiece Posted March 21, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Thanks for the heads up.... this will hopefully avoid us having to call in for specific cabin availability or go to other sites to find them. Nice one RCCL :)
marci22 Posted March 21, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Definitely an improvement. I wish they put little dots on all the available cabins listed, like you know who. I like the 'specific stateroom' feature, but you have to be in that category to select it.
Pumbaamd Posted March 21, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Great improvement. Won't have to go to "you know who" as often now. Thanks, RCCL. Rick and Deirdra
dcgrumpy Posted March 21, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 21, 2010 I love that you can check for connecting cabins.
The_Big_M Posted March 21, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 21, 2010 I love that you can check for connecting cabins. Good improvement - surprised it took so long since their younger brother Celebrity has had cabin selection for a long time.
cruisenfever Posted March 21, 2010 #7 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Great improvement. Won't have to go to "you know who" as often now. Thanks, RCCL. Rick and Deirdra I think that RCI got tired of us telling them what was available because of "you know who"!:D Great improvement, though it would be nice to actually see a deck plan like "you know who" does. marci22 Posted March 21, 2010 #8 Share Posted March 21, 2010 There is a button that shows you the deck plan under the cabin choices, but you have to select it each time.
cruisenfever Posted March 21, 2010 #9 Share Posted March 21, 2010 There is a button that shows you the deck plan under the cabin choices, but you have to select it each time. Thanks, I guess I didn't explore far enough. Edit.......I found it and that really makes it so much easier to find where a cabin is located. Bobal Posted March 21, 2010 #11 Share Posted March 21, 2010 What a surprise - they haven't changed the UK website  Perhaps they'll update it when they finally let us look at our C & A status online - i.e. the 12th of never ;)

BroncosFan2010 Posted March 21, 2010 #13 Share Posted March 21, 2010 WOW! I really like the new way to book. I like that you can search for a specific cabin. It also helps give an idea of how well a ship is sailing, if you want to take the time to look through all the cabin categories.
Sue L Posted March 21, 2010 #14 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Was looking around and pricing somethings and it promptly kicked me out....guess they haven't worked out the bugs. Not a great start for me.
megr1125 Posted March 21, 2010 #15 Share Posted March 21, 2010 It's very nice...if it worked!! I got some funky messages too..... Now...if they get it working...AND GET NEW PHOTOS.....!
Rare orville99 Posted March 21, 2010 #16 Share Posted March 21, 2010 The new engine is a great improvement. We were out on Saturday looking for a good cabin on a short RCI cruise, and didn't like anything that was showing up on the RCI site (the "not to be named" alternative site showed the ones we wanted;)). Today, same ship, same dates - the cabins we prefer magically appeared.:):):):) I was getting tired of flipping back and forth and then having to call my TA. Josie2 Posted March 21, 2010 #17 Share Posted March 21, 2010 I was checking out the improvements - and came across a $160 pp price drop for my July cruise on Serenade! Called and got the better price. Although, asked about switching booking from Canadian $$ to US and was less than successful there. We have an aft cabin that I don't want to give up - the agent said we'd have to cancel our booking and start over. I don't want to risk losing that room. Cruzin-K Posted March 21, 2010 #18 Share Posted March 21, 2010 I'm wondering which site is "you know who" as well. I assume it's an online travel agent. I know a few of the larger ones out there - I guess I can go browse around to see which ones show me all available cabins.

Elizanessie Posted March 21, 2010 #21 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Yes they have - It's been up and running most of today Wow I am amazed..UK same time as US..that must be a first  Thanks for letting us know..I admit I didnt bother even checking it all the way through as I dont use the UK for booking so no need to check their site. But thanks for letting others know the UK site has been changed too.

marci22 Posted March 22, 2010 #23 Share Posted March 22, 2010 I still like to sea scan so you can view all at one time, RCCL too much back and forth. Yes, it is time consuming waiting for each new page to load.
BroncosFan2010 Posted March 22, 2010 #24 Share Posted March 22, 2010 I think it will improve as time goes on. They are still probably trying to get all of the bugs out. It is still a huge improvement over the old version, when you could only see 4-5 cabins at a time.
Bobal Posted March 22, 2010 #25 Share Posted March 22, 2010 Try refreshing your page or deleting your cached pages. Done that - and it's still the old style. However, if I click on change country in the top corner of the page and make the country US I get the new style. Perhaps the previous poster logs into the US site automatically. Anyway, much prefer the new format and hope it makes it to the UK site soon ;)
