When upgraded, what credit do you get?

If you booked a regular balcony room but got an upgrade to a suite, how many cruise credits do you get, the original 1 or the upgraded suite 2?

You will probably get different answers here, but when we were upgraded to a JS we got 3 credits because it was a 14 day cruise.

If you are upgraded while on the ship (or during the cruise) which would mean that you are moved from the cabin you booked, you do not get the extra cruise credit.

I would because the credit is given after you completed the cruise. And since you started and ended in a Jr. Suite it will be 2 cruise credits. If you have any documentation lke your sign and sail statement showing what cabin you sailed in, make a copy of that as proof.

We've gotten the extra credit, but know of people who have not. I believe that the policy is that you get the category you booked and paid for, but sometimes the computer doesn't know that.

I never asked for the upgrade and certainly didn't expect one (or an extra credit). BUT, if some people are getting an extra credit for it, why shouldn't I? That's all!

This one is another RCI mystery - we received credit for all but one upgrade. When I questioned C&A they said you get credit for what you paid for, not what you were given as an upgrade.

This is what happened to us. We got the appropriate credit for the cabin we occupied, not what we booked.

 

One could assume that the same would hold true for an upgrade once on board as the cruise credits are not processed till after the completion of the cruise per my understanding.

On the first try, it was a success! I even used the online live support feature (so my nosey co-workers wouldn't hear), and had no problems whatsoever!
