daisy-mae Posted February 11, 2011 #26 Share Posted February 11, 2011 This is already on the Oasis, is it not? I don't know about the Oasis, but on the Freedom it runs between two rows of lounge chairs.

kellyclayt Posted February 11, 2011 #31 Share Posted February 11, 2011 I agree with all the posts calling for something more along the lines of the Radiance class with lots of ocean views or maybe along the lines of the Celebrity Solstice class. I personally would also love no smoking on balconies. I hate to pay for a balcony and then be forced inside to avoid cigarette smoke.
kassimer1 Posted February 11, 2011 #32 Share Posted February 11, 2011 I would like self serve laundry, Teen video games where you pay one price and play all day or included with the cost of cruise. Great wolf lodge had a 10 $ a day fee and your kid can play all day not just for a limited time. I mean you have guitar hero or rock band but its only for a set amount of time so if you dont make it at that time you cant play. and an arcade is ok but you can go thru 10$ in minutes and the kid is bored then. not all teens are the hang with bew kids and talk. some are very shy but can shine and get to slowly know the other kids over a few games. they could even have them in the teen lounge along the wall. I agree about a retractable roof over a pool, incase of rain or chilly out.

B-52 Posted February 12, 2011 #35 Share Posted February 12, 2011 I would like to see RCI Introduce a smaller "Upscale", yes, more expensive ship where one can expect excellent service, every dinner as though you were in a specialty restaurant, etc, etc. I feel RCI's goal is to fill ships to their capacity, hurting food quality and service at the sake of lowering prices. They don't need to do this fleet wide, just a few ships.
nydiana Posted February 12, 2011 #36 Share Posted February 12, 2011 • More like Radiance Class ships, lots of windows • More elevators, or larger elevators • Outdoor eating areas like Radiance class • Heated pools with retractable roof • More seating in the Adult only Solarium • MTD separate from MDR so you may enter doors on both sides of the ship • Quiet areas to relax and view the sea • Perhaps an online meeting place to arrange to meet for bridge, chess, and other games • Balcony cabins set up with sitting area next to balcony, bed near bathroom (like Vision class) • Larger tables on balcony for meals • Status of how busy eating venues are from your cabin TV • Menus of what is being served in each eating venue from cabin TV • Nice relaxing place for afternoon tea or snacks • At least one side of the ship (port or starboard) completely non smoking so you may walk from one end of the ship (on any floor) to the other end without walking though smoke fill areas, including a wall separating casino into two with a smoking half and a non smoking half • Non-smoking balconies (or at least on one side of the ship) • Beds set up a little higher to easily fit luggage underneath • Less Bingo announcements • Change the announcements so you can turn on and volume up or down in room with control next to the bed. I hate to have to run to the door to prop open to be able to hear the announcements • More comedians • Put on Plays (drama or comedy) showing several times during sea days and at least one evening • Water slide • Movies outside under the stars • Higher speed internet & computers with up-to-date software Diana
Eng23 Posted February 12, 2011 #37 Share Posted February 12, 2011 Solo-cruiser cabins with no overcharge. I second this motion! :D It sounds like this will be a reality from the CC article. It was hinted "that there would be at least more than 3 solo cruiser class cabins on board". :D :)

kathynorth Posted February 12, 2011 #40 Share Posted February 12, 2011 I'd like to see a self-service laundry, designated adult area where we can lounge while looking out over the water, more comfortable inside seating in quiet areas for reading. Aoumd Posted February 12, 2011 #42 Share Posted February 12, 2011 I suggested a temperature controlled Solarium (retractable roof and heating) since during my recent transatalntic on the Adventure even the solarium was unusable for most of the cruise. I second this. Would work great for winter sailings out of Bayonne too. Hopefully a retractable dome for the main pool too, so the adults can have their pool and the kids theirs too on colder cruises. Also more elevators - Oasis was great in terms of spreading out the crowds, but vertical transportation was the sole choke point.

Darkwolfe Posted February 12, 2011 #44 Share Posted February 12, 2011 Easy: Supersize a Radience class -Make the water slide something all ages can enjoy. -WLAN all over the ship -Make sure the WJ is actualy big enough to handle the crowds (worst drawback of the Voyager ships there)
Scotty G Posted February 12, 2011 #45 Share Posted February 12, 2011 State-of-the-Art Elevators/Lifts! Adequate numbers and sizes to accommodate the flow at event starting/ending times and consider scooter and wheelchair users.
Cincy-David Posted February 12, 2011 #46 Share Posted February 12, 2011 Word is out, what features would you like to see on this new "Sunshine" class of ships. Share your thoughts. My thoughts - McDonald's at sea. There is no where to get a good hamburger on the run on any of the RCI ships. What do you think?
MrsPete Posted February 12, 2011 #47 Share Posted February 12, 2011 I like the idea of a Spanish tapas place! I'd also like to see a lunchtime "pub" like on Princess. We'd like a casual burger /chicken /nachos type place by the pool. You can do away with Johnny Rockets. Is that really a highlight for anyone? I'd like to see the formal dining room remain REALLY formal . . . but create a casual dining room, something half-way between the formal dining room and the Windjammer. This'd provide a place for the large number of people who don't want to dress for dinner, yet also don't want buffet for dinner. Serve the same food in the two places, and no upcharge for the formal atmosphere. I love the Solarium and would like to see it remain just "as is", but I DO NOT want it to be covered. Of course, I'm assuming Caribbean itineraries. I'd also like to see some of those round two-person lounging chairs in the Solarium. Would enjoy a water slide! Definitely add self-service laundry. We'd use a bowling alley! We'd like first-run movies rather than stuff that's already at the rental places. I can't quite see the need for a comedy club -- perhaps the evening show could include a few more comedians? We enjoy the Promenade a good bit, but we don't care for the high-end shops like Coach. We could also do without the barber shop -- who really uses that? How about a design that's better for getting passengers on/off at port? Anything would be better than the current cattle-call and waiting on stairs. Perhaps more doors (to divide the crowd)? These don't quite apply to ship-building or ship design, but they're things I'd like: At least 4 port stops on every 7-day cruise. I like "at sea days", but you can have too much of a good thing. Bring more ships to Port Canaveral. It's considerably closer than Miami, and many of us on the East Coast can drive to it; thus, lowering the cost of the cruise. It's good business: If RC can lower the price of my cruise by lowering my transportation cost, I'm likely to cruise more often! Make it easier to use FlowRider. Why is it really necessary to sign the paperwork, then get a new wristband each day? Include the waiver with the pre-cruise paperwork and be done with it!
