yes, Gina, I am on my way home, I'll be home Wednesday night. The hospital got to the bottom of what was ailing my 91 yr old Mom so I have a diagnosis and prognosis so I can come home even though she's not discharged from the hospital yet. She insisted I didn't extend my stay.

Second Captain on Anthem will be Gus Andersson.

 

He will only be doing one contract on the Quantum when she comes out, and then move on to the pre-build on the Anthem. He advised us of this in June on the Enchantment.

Each ship has 2 Captains that do a usual 10 week rotation. It is very possible that Captain Gus will be rotating with Captain Claus.

It seems there is sudden confusion now since someone mentioned two captains with similar last names, pronounced the same.

 

On Quantum it was originally to be Capt. Gus and Capt. Patrik. Capt. Patrik has taken a promotion to a shoreside position in the main office. Whether or not he will be on board for a brief rotation for the inaugural remains to be seen.

 

So....for what we know the two regular captains on Quantum at first seem to be Capt. Gus and Capt Srecko Ban. Capt. Ban has already told people he has been assigned to Quantum. There was question as to when he would be going there.

 

Maybe all 3 captains will be on board for the inaugural. I do know at least 2 will be there and one will be in command, the other in plain clothes. At one point in the not too distant past one of those named captains said, and I heard, that he would be on board for the sailing I'm on, with his family, in plain clothes.

 

Are they trying to keep us guessing? It sounds complicated. But it is probably being made more complicated than it is because of the Anderson, Anderssen thing being thrown out there.

We had Captain Rob on our b2b this past April/May. We were lucky enough to have dinner with him and he is a very charming host and we had a great time.

 

But, he was the most invisible Captain we have ever experienced. If it weren't for his noon time announcements, you would have wondered who was at the helm. :D

He and I must just happen to use the stairs often at the same time. He's also one of the rare captains who always shows up for the bridge tour. He does a great job of smashing his dessert, too, without getting it on those seated beside him.
