KruzPrincess Posted March 31, 2012 #401 Share Posted March 31, 2012 Thanks Princess. Not to be a negative Nellie, because I really do think it's great that they listened, but I hope from now on they actually sit in the chairs to see if they're comfortable. Also, I hope they understand that many of us don't book Caribe balconies, but still like a table that we could eat a meal on. A regular balcony on Celebrity has 2 reclining chairs and a table that you can sit at. I understand this thread was about Caribe balconies, but I hope they don't think other size balconies are fine with sub-par furniture.
Astro Flyer Posted March 31, 2012 #402 Share Posted March 31, 2012 These balconies will now offer two reclining chairs, two ottomans and a dining table. ...was not willing to pay the additional $980 if I was not to enjoy the seating for 4 persons and a dining table, very happy cruiser. Now we can enjoy our wine sitting with our friends when we sail in November. I am a happy camper! Again, I'm happy that Princess has reacted so quickly to this situation which for me is okay however it's still only 2 chairs & not 4 chairs. Thus you won't be able to have 'seating for 4 persons' or 'sitting with our friends' unless someone is going to bring their chairs or they're willing to sit on a footstool. For me the new furniture setup is okay...however for anyone who wants to entertain guests on their Caribe deck balcony...it's still only 2 chairs & 2 footstools. bigguy1 Posted March 31, 2012 #403 Share Posted March 31, 2012 Thank you Princess for at last listening to your customers. I am so glad I will not have to change my balconies on next two cruises, was not willing to pay the additional $980 if I was not to enjoy the seating for 4 persons and a dining table, very happy cruiser. Here is the quote from Princess: Good afternoon, Thank you for your email. We appreciate your feedback about the furniture on Caribe deck balconies. After hearing your comments, we're pleased to tell you that we've decided to make a change. These balconies will now offer two reclining chairs, two ottomans and a dining table. We're in the process of ordering this new furniture and expect it to roll out over the coming months. We look forward to welcoming you onboard. We look forward to welcoming you onboard soon! Sincerely, Princess Cruises Customer Relations Specialist customerrelations@princesscruises.com You will have seating for four if you use the ottomans as seats. We didn't get the loungers but reclining charis w/ottomans should suffice. The "dining table" will enable us to have drinks, etc. on the Caribe balcony. I believe our emails and calls effected this change and we know, for sure, that Princess reads these boards.
binkey36 Posted March 31, 2012 #404 Share Posted March 31, 2012 I am so happy for those who will benefit from your decision. Unforunately, I don't believe that we will benefit, as we sail on the Star on 4-13-12 , in a Caribe balcony cabin. This is our first Princess cruise. I was looking forward to the large balcony, which is why we booked that particular cabin. Ah well...que sera sera...maybe we will get the new furniture on the next Princess cruise. Thank you for listening to your customers. This is the true definition of customer service.

Josy1953 Posted March 31, 2012 #407 Share Posted March 31, 2012 Thank you Princess for listening to your customers. We will be on the Grand in May and have a Caribe balcony for the first time, just praying that the furniture is rolled out by the time we leave on our cruise. cnd crsr Posted March 31, 2012 #408 Share Posted March 31, 2012 Thank you Princess. I realize this change will not be in effect when we sail April 7 on the Grand, but glad it will be there later on for others to enjoy.

Happy2cruise Posted March 31, 2012 #411 Share Posted March 31, 2012 While I think it's great about the change, I still don't understand why they are taking away 2 of the chairs. Am I the only one who is confused. We always get the caribe deck but I see no reason to now......all that room and only 2 chairs for sitting and no I don't consider an ottoman a chair....sorry!. Thanks Princess for at least making the effort. It is appreciated!!

Thanks Princess for at least making the effort. It is appreciated!! No, I've posted that a couple of times but I must be in the small minority who cares that it's not a return to 4 chairs on a Caribe deck balcony. Sitting on someone's ottoman is not good for me but apparently it must not be a problem for others. Again, it's nice to have Princess respond by adding the ottomans & a dining table but it's still not helpful for those who care to entertain on their balcony by having only 2 chairs on a large Caribe deck balcony. :(
kenzie Posted March 31, 2012 #413 Share Posted March 31, 2012 Princess you nearly got it right now move a little more. Caribe deck should have 4 chairs. No compromise get it right. I need 4 chairs. I do not want to have to borrow from Lido deck.for extra chairs.

We know of two other couples who are sailing with us that are very disappointed they won't have seating for four on their balconies. Guess we will drag lounges from balcony to balcony....;)

Astro Flyer Posted April 1, 2012 #421 Share Posted April 1, 2012 There's a photo of a mini-suite cabin's balcony on another thread of what the new furniture will probably look like an Caribe deck: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1606183

chamima Posted April 1, 2012 #423 Share Posted April 1, 2012 Thank you Princess! Thank you Gettingwarmer!:D I agree !!!!!!!!!!! :D :D I hope I don't get slammed but the greater majority of the time we use the 2 extra chairs to put our feet on to relax and read on the balcony. Footstools will be a lot more comfortable. And if we have company on the balcony I would quickly sit myself down on a footstool so my company could sit on a chair. This actually looks more comfortable than anything we've had since they stopped allowing us to have pool loungers on our balcony.
RickEk Posted April 1, 2012 #424 Share Posted April 1, 2012 Hey... since this thread and email writing campaign worked so well, maybe we should start one to get an aft pool on the Royal Princess?! :p
cruisealot54 Posted April 1, 2012 #425 Share Posted April 1, 2012 I m so excited about them "fixing" the furniture situation on the Caribe deck. My fingers are crossed that this will be done on the Crown when we sail in two weeks (hope hope hope)
