New balcony furniture on Caribe deck on Grand

Thanks Princess.

Not to be a negative Nellie, because I really do think it's great that they listened, but I hope from now on they actually sit in the chairs to see if they're comfortable. Also, I hope they understand that many of us don't book Caribe balconies, but still like a table that we could eat a meal on. A regular balcony on Celebrity has 2 reclining chairs and a table that you can sit at. I understand this thread was about Caribe balconies, but I hope they don't think other size balconies are fine with sub-par furniture.

These balconies will now offer two reclining chairs, two ottomans and a dining table.

...was not willing to pay the additional $980 if I was not to enjoy the seating for 4 persons and a dining table, very happy cruiser.

Now we can enjoy our wine sitting with our friends when we sail in November. I am a happy camper!

Again, I'm happy that Princess has reacted so quickly to this situation which for me is okay however it's still only 2 chairs & not 4 chairs. Thus you won't be able to have 'seating for 4 persons' or 'sitting with our friends' unless someone is going to bring their chairs or they're willing to sit on a footstool.

For me the new furniture setup is okay...however for anyone who wants to entertain guests on their Caribe deck balcony...it's still only 2 chairs & 2 footstools.

Thank you Princess for at last listening to your customers. I am so glad I will not have to change my balconies on next two cruises, was not willing to pay the additional $980 if I was not to enjoy the seating for 4 persons and a dining table, very happy cruiser.

Here is the quote from Princess: Good afternoon,

Thank you for your email. We appreciate your feedback about the furniture on Caribe deck balconies. After hearing your comments, we're pleased to tell you that we've decided to make a change. These balconies will now offer two reclining chairs, two ottomans and a dining table. We're in the process of ordering this new furniture and expect it to roll out over the coming months. We look forward to welcoming you onboard.

We look forward to welcoming you onboard soon!

Sincerely,

You will have seating for four if you use the ottomans as seats. We didn't get the loungers but reclining charis w/ottomans should suffice. The "dining table" will enable us to have drinks, etc. on the Caribe balcony.

I believe our emails and calls effected this change and we know, for sure, that Princess reads these boards.

I am so happy for those who will benefit from your decision. Unforunately, I don't believe that we will benefit, as we sail on the Star on 4-13-12 , in a Caribe balcony cabin. This is our first Princess cruise. I was looking forward to the large balcony, which is why we booked that particular cabin. Ah well...que sera sera...maybe we will get the new furniture on the next Princess cruise. Thank you for listening to your customers. This is the true definition of customer service.

While I think it's great about the change, I still don't understand why they are taking away 2 of the chairs. Am I the only one who is confused. We always get the caribe deck but I see no reason to now......all that room and only 2 chairs for sitting and no I don't consider an ottoman a chair....sorry!.

Thanks Princess for at least making the effort. It is appreciated!!

No, I've posted that a couple of times but I must be in the small minority who cares that it's not a return to 4 chairs on a Caribe deck balcony. Sitting on someone's ottoman is not good for me but apparently it must not be a problem for others.

Again, it's nice to have Princess respond by adding the ottomans & a dining table but it's still not helpful for those who care to entertain on their balcony by having only 2 chairs on a large Caribe deck balcony. :(

Princess you nearly got it right now move a little more. Caribe deck should have 4 chairs. No compromise get it right. I need 4 chairs. I do not want to have to borrow from Lido deck.for extra chairs.

There are probably far more disappointed people than you realize. We know of two other couples who are sailing with us that are very disappointed they won't have seating for four on their balconies. Guess we will drag lounges from balcony to balcony....;)

Thank you Princess! Thank you Gettingwarmer!:D

I agree !!!!!!!!!!! :D :D

I hope I don't get slammed but the greater majority of the time we use the 2 extra chairs to put our feet on to relax and read on the balcony. Footstools will be a lot more comfortable.

And if we have company on the balcony I would quickly sit myself down on a footstool so my company could sit on a chair.

This actually looks more comfortable than anything we've had since they stopped allowing us to have pool loungers on our balcony.
