The Window Suite...

Am just trying to be sure I understand one thing. In reading the "suite perks" page on Princess, it says suites have 2 televisions. I'm seeing (in the diagram and in mentions on responses) that there is only one in a Window Suite. Do I have this right? It wouldn't change my thinking on whether to book one or not, just would have my expectations at the right level.

Correct only one TV in the Window Suites.

My friend has already started teasing me about having a Mimosa with my breakfast! He says 8.00 am is FAR too early to start drinking alcohol!

Mimosas are mostly orange juice, and orange juice is supposed to be healthy - right?:)

Window suites are horrible.:( How could anyone possibly spend a week or more on a cruise with only one TV? What could you possibly find to do? For this reason, none of you should book a Window Suite.;)

I'm willing to take one for the team and suffer through the agonies of a Window Suite.. Yep, I'm a team player alright..

I kind of remember when Princess couldn't give them away now it's getting harder and harder to snag one. Yep you are right they are a horrible room. NEVER book a window suite. :)

Hehehehehe! I shall tell him that with wicked delight! With the variety of food available to "mop up" any alcohol, I should have very little trouble. Will bring a particularly snack that is very filling to enjoy BEFORE I have a Cocktail, so I should be very safe. There's plenty of information available-I think my friend's problem is HE HAS TO WORK! AND HE'S JEALOUS! I've already told him he's getting a souvenir mug for his coffee-a real coffee addict he is! Easy to buy for, just get a pack of his favourite cappuccino sachets, the larger the better, and he's as happy as a pig in a mud patch!

If a Window Suite once every 2 years is almost the only way I can cruise, I'll take it! I need Disabled Accessibility, and I think it's only the Caribbean, Golden Grand and Regal or Royal Princess ships that have a Window or Penthouse Suite modified for Disabled Accessibility so the "Suite Perks" are available. Yes, some ships DO have Accessible Mini Suites, but until you're Elite, you don't get the perks!

I think that many people don't know they exist, but CC is spreading the word, for better or worse :).

No kidding.. We're booked on the CB for a 5/2016 cruise and the only window suite left is F301. These cruises were just released last Thursday!

Who says a week? I've "suffered" for far less days, more often. I know similar passengers who have done the same. Maybe we should start an alumni group here. That way we can take turns blocking out the cabins so no one else would have to endure such agony.

I am currently on Grand. I have noticed the doors to the corridor have been kept closed at all times and that is working to keep the smoke odor from the casino out. I am in a mini suite and walked down the corridor to check the smoke situation. the suites also have names for each of them

Thanks for that information. Hope that's also happening on the Golden Princess.

This time in 55 weeks, I'll be finishing the packing to travel the next day. Will probably take the later flight (still a morning flight) as NOT an early morning riser as a rule!

You're certainly welcome for the photos and descriptions. I've gotten so much from CC over the years because people are so helpful. I've resolved to try to contribute a bit more myself to keep that going.

On the answers to some of your questions, Mindy97 gave the best answer on the bathroom since you are booked into the accessible room, the configuration is different. I will say for anyone else using the other non-accessible rooms, that the step into the shower is very small (2-3 inches), it is less than the step into the bathroom, which looks to be 6-7 inches. But in the accessible, no step.

If you have a US adapter, you will be able to plug it in to the two US plugs at the desk area no problem. You may already be aware of this, but I always repeat it just in case: "Adapters" are used if your device is capable of all voltages (your device should say Input: 100-240V) and just needs to fit the shape of the new plug; "Converters" are used is your device is not capable of all voltages (e.g. Input: 220-240V) and the voltage needs to be changed (US plugs will provide 110-120V only).

GREAT CLEAR EXPLANATION RE ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS! I shall copy that information to a Word document and take it when I replace the notebook computer, the technician will know what to instruct me to buy for the cruise-useless with technical stuff, a good basic operator but no techie, I squeal for help. And my cousin laughs at me, but comes to help. I am buying a brand new notebook computer so will let the technical know I will be travelling on a ship with US electrical current and sockets so what do I need to use the computer safely? It will only be as a Word Processor-small, frequent note-taking is likely to be more accurate. This is a whole new experience for me, and I'm EXCITED!

This time in 55 weeks I will be at the hotel in Melbourne excitedly waiting for the time when I can get the taxi to the ship to embark! Have noted to carry a casual change of clothes and a smart top for the evening meal, toiletries and prescribed medication in my carry-on case. Oh, that's jogged my memory, must ring the Dr's clinic in 2 days time (Saturday night here) and book in for my annual Flu vaccination-I almost forgot about it! Mentioning the medication jogged my memory.

Have several plastic crates for storage, must measure and see if any are deeper than the step up into a regular bathroom-I can practise raising my foot to rest it on the required height-although I won't need it, it's a sneaky new form of exercise cunningly disguised as "fun preparation for a future cruise" rather than just boring health maintenance exercise! Amazing what the prospect of a cruise can encourage me to try and do on a regular basis!

On the Golden the Casino is one deck up so no issue with smoke from there. However, the doors to the Cigar Bar forward of the elevators are often kept open and you can get a faint odor in the forward end of the WS corridor unless the forward door is kept closed.

With a door just by my Suite, I'm not likely to be exploring the other end of the corridor, not when I know of a likely asthma trigger-excitement's challenging enough to manage! Equally, if that's the nearest exit in an emergency, I'll go for it! Evacuation requirements override (temporarily) Asthma management until I'm safe, then I'll control the asthma if I need to!

This time in, according to the countdown clock my friend provided me with, in 55 weeks I'll actually be sailing for Sydney. If anyone sees a woman on a Rollator walking round the Golden Princess with a silly smile on her dial, it'll probably be me! Trying to control myself with a weekly countdown-yes I'm checking it daily, but also trying NOT to drive everyone crazy with my exciting ramblings!

There is a good chance someone will cancel. With only a couple of $100 FCDs needed, Princess makes it very easy to book a cruise you are thinking you might want to take in order to hold a cabin until you decide.

HA...look who's talking, Mr. "I was going to cancel, but didn't!"

My other stateroom neighbor checked frequently to see if F311 would open up. Of course it never did.

We are booked on the Caribbean April 20, 2016 TA sailing and the only WS left is

F301. This will be our fourth time in a WS.

The WS is probably the worst cabin that can be booked! The smell of rancid cigar smoke, the noise from above is just all too much for anyone who want peace and quiet, and a smoke free area.

Seriously, my one suggested change to one of these cabins is to have a curtain that would separate the living room from the bedroom. It would fit right over the desk, to black out the sleeping area from the living room. It's certainly not a deal breaker, but would have been a nice added value.

Notice how these suites have caught on..........and Princess is working the price of the WS's northward.

We have spent time in F307, F309, and our favorite F311.

And for those of you that are just trying the WS's, coming up from, say, a mini suite, and get to be pampered for breakfast/brunch in Sabbatini's, with Mimosa's (very healthy), and then they have a very special egg cup. In a very nice glass bowl, with fried potatoes, one or two poached eggs (your call) and hollandaise sauce on the side, so that you can create your own dish. I ask for a side of a ham slice on the side, so that I can cube it and add it to the dish. It's far better, IMHO, than the eggs benedict.

Thanks to a special friend that introduced us to a wonderful way of living "the suite life".:)

If a Window Suite is the ONLY SAFE option for me to enjoy the "Suite Perks" where's that money box to start saving for my next cruise?

It's better than being shore-bound! Once I know how I tolerate the ship's movement, I can plan for future cruises-even a 2 night transit between 2 State Capitals is better than nothing for me! Doesn't bother me which port I start out, I'll do the reverse cruise JUST to get a cruise!

You could always book an accessable inside cabin Crochetcruise, far cheaper than a suite, my husband has no trouble at all using his walker to get into these cabins and he needs the rails in the bathroom with his mobility issues.....we book insides to cruise more often, and all accessable cabins would be safe for you.
