Tina G Posted March 17, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2012 Today I saw a large basket of Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets discounted to $2 at my local supermarket. I always pack those in a zip-lock baggie so I won't have to pay for laundry detergent and fabric softener. I really hope that they aren't being discontinued! I bought several packs to save for future cruises.
lovevacadays Posted March 17, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2012 Good for you. If they are discontinued I hope you find something comparable that you will like
Rare Coral Posted March 17, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 17, 2012 Tide now has "pods" http://www.tide.com/en-US/tidepods/index.jspx?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=tide&utm_campaign=Tide.Ambrosia_Search_Desktop_Brand+Awareness&utm_content=sfHOKnetW_11176583179_e_tide I prefer tide to purex. "All" also has something equivalent.
lljost Posted March 17, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 17, 2012 Unfortunately, I believe they have been discontinued. They have come out with something similar to Tides pods. I am not a fan of Tide and love Purex. I love Purex sheets for travel and have bought several packages which should carry me through several trips. Will continue to buy the sheets to save for travel as long as I see them and will try the new pods after that. I only buy the "free" as neither my DH or I like perfume or additives in our laundry detergent.
Nebr.cruiser Posted March 17, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 17, 2012 I only use them for traveling, so the one package I bought has lasted several years, and I still have some left. I'll be on the lookout though, and buy some more if I see them. I like them better than the 'pods' I'm seeing advertised--easier to transport. Cruisedreamer1 Posted March 17, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 17, 2012 Doesn't the ship provide the detergent when you activate the washing machine?
Bowie MeMe Posted March 17, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 17, 2012 No the packages are $1.00 (quarters) and the detergent is not my brand and I think it does not disolve very well. I love the purex 3 in 1 for travel. Thanks for the warning as I will buy ahead some.

Nebr.cruiser Posted July 9, 2012 #12 Share Posted July 9, 2012 I should order a pack. I haven't seen any around here and though I have some left, I'd like to stock up. The pods look ok, just not as packable.
Alaskanb Posted July 9, 2012 #13 Share Posted July 9, 2012 That was my thought--just watch which one you order to get the 4.97 pack. I thought it was a great price.
