Been busy researching excursions for our Feb cruise. Anyone have any ideas for Southern Caribbean....San Juan, St Thomas,Barbados, St Lucia, St Kitts or St Martin?

A group of us on the Brilliance November 2nd cruise have booked with Royston's Tours on St. Kitts. It looks pretty good.

Bernard's Tours on St. Maartin is excellent. I know that from personal experience.

We've been researching, too, our excursions for our next cruise on 1st Nov. Glad about the recommendation for Bernards Tours as that is one we have picked. Also Cosol for St. Lucia. Any recommendations for Barbados? Want to do Harrisons Caves, has anyone been there?

I organized the Barnard's Tour for a group on a roll call in early 2011. Barnard worked with me since about half the people in the group wanted to do one thing with the other half wanting to do something else. He drove us all to Marigot where some of us got off to shop, look around, have lunch, and he took the others to a beach. He must have stayed with the beach group, but after a couple of hours he picked up those of us in Marigot and took all of us to Maho for a stop and then back to the ship. And all the way he gave us his own homemade rum punch to enjoy.

Ha ! ha! looks like it!! hope not -- I bet the others are just busy - carol

I'm still here! I have been kinda busy; I had a 50th b-day party last weekend for my (little) sister, I had a small dinner party last evening so we could have dinner & drinks on the deck before the weather gets cold , I have my class I am taking so I have homework and I am starting to do some remodeling. The painter is coming tomorrow at 7:30am. I will also soon be going to Vegas for a conference (not on a cruise which is my preferred vacation), but it will be a nice getaway. :)

I hope all are well.

I just confirmed our excursion with Bernard's Tours in St. Martin....We have a group of 8 going and I hope this is as good as everyone says! I think the teen and tween will like Maho Beach! I am taking a serious look at Cosol Tours for St Lucia. I also have a tour with Buelah at Welcome Tours in St Kitts..This is a short 1 1/2 hr tour and then off to Palm Court Gardens to relax at the pool. ( I am thinking this one will be a relaxing day for Papa and me!).......Now off to research Barbados!

Anybody following the story of the young woman who was on the Allure and went overboard Sunday night? Such a tragic and sad thing to happen. I hope they find her - preferably alive but at least for closure for her family if not. I also hope they find out what happened.

Beth

How sad, I had not heard this. I'll Google the story. Thanks for the info. My thoughts are with the family.

Very sad - I haven't read about it yet, just know it happened - I feel for her family. Carol

As many times as we have been to St Maarten, we have never taken a tour - would like to do it on my next cruise - Bernard's is highly rated and will work with you according to my friends who know him - as per Beth too -

whew!!!! what a busy gal you are!! Enjoy Vegas!! we are going to Reno end of the month - we don't gamble, we just do a lot of look/see's -- we shop, we eat - last time my hubby went to a sports show (end of Aug) so this time we will be there for US -- it's not as exciting or as scenic as LV with all their huge casino's and hotels, but it's ok, on the quieter side, old old casinos... Hi gloria:

Glad you found us too - are you going on a X ship ? or Princess? we really need more CA cruises - I would like one that starts in SF, goes to Monterey, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Catalina Is, Ensenada (since they have to do a foreign port) and then back to SF - or the other way, SF to Vancouver and than back to SF ...

Come in and chat anytime - we are here!!

Hi Gloria. I'm glad you found us, too.

Carol, you wish for more west coast departures, and I wish for east coast departures other than NY or Florida. Baltimore has a few Royal Caribbean and maybe others. Norfolk and Charleston have one Carnival ship each for short cruises. But that's it. I know that Charleston is building a new modern terminal which I hope will attract other cruise lines.

We have sailed from Bayonne several times - we visit family in PA and NJ so it's an OK port for us - Baltimore sounds interesting and would not mind sailing from there - would like more SF or LA departures to save on airfare!! plus the fact that I do not care much for flying -

Our SF pier is just awful - they need to renovate that NOW... ha!ha! I remember taking our 'entry' pic for one of our Alaska cruises and the background, even tho' it was the ship backdrop, included parts of the rafters and junky looking building in the back - I even commented how awful the pier was and it would not be an attractive pic cuz of the background! so much for my yapping... but they needed to know!! ha!ha! carol

No problem disemb'g -- you will be right at the pier area with Pier 39 and the wharf right in front of you - lovey area - I don't know if you will be going on tours - Alcatraz is nice, I have never been so that's on my MustDo list -- you can walk all over and take the street cars, cable cars etc.. lots of nice restaurants in the area - just note how ugly the building is when you embk and disembk... ha!ha! but that's just me noticing stuff like that - the rest of SF is beautiful - so that will be more noticeable and enjoyable -
