"LIVE" from Enchantment of the Seas / Jan 5, 2013

We had Wild Fire on our Explorer cruise on 12/3. They were wearing the exact same clothes!! They were all right; not my favorite entertainers. For once I actually enjoyed the production shows more than the headliners (except Rick Novell; he was hysterical).

Wally, is Jack the gentleman with the white hair with the gazillion C&A points?

Radio, thanks so much for taking the time & trouble for posting your updates and photos. Really appreciate it all. :)

When we were on Enchantment last February and again in September, the only way we could login to the shipboard Internet with our own devices was either with Apple Safari or Windows Explorer. If you didn't have one of those, you were out of luck.

I got a new Kindle Fire HD for Christmas, and would rather come aboard with it than my old, clunky Windows netbook. The Kindle uses Amazon's SILK browser.

Any info in the newly revamped/pervasive Internet instructions that you've seen that mention which browsers are supported?

Thanks, again, for all of your daily reports!! Cheers!

Radio,

I am enjoying sailing along with you once again. We will be on the Enchantment in April for the last full sail and the repo cruise.

In your pricture from the dining room, I think I see my favorite waiter on the Enchantment--Albert from the Phillipines, we have requested him several times.

You are doing a great job as usual.:D:)

Good morning Radio, thanks for all the on board pictures. It is really getting us excited for our sail on Jan 14th. I dont like to ask, because I know you're swamped with questions, but Im going to go against my usual not asking questions to asking just this one.....If you pass by the GYM, snap a pic..? I'm feeling positive that there is an area within the gym or a separate room for floor excersizes? Do you see the big work out balls any where? I dont like to admit that I have had recent and serious issues that require me to make sure I work out daily. If you dont get to the gym, no worries, I fully understand! Best always & maybe we will bump into you when you disembark and we embark...:)

Can't find a post from "Wally" about Jack, but that's a good description of him. Is he on this sailing. Such a REALLY nice person. Hoping he'll be on the 1/14 cruise!

Honestly, don't worry whether it is 2 or 3 formal nights. You are getting caught up in a minor detail. Take what you want to and if there are 3 nights I am sure you will find something appropriate to wear. Just enjoy.

You know you are 100% correct plus I am not a fan of formal nights

I questioned up coming cruises and had several tell me what happened in the past.

FWIW here is page 17 of from my doc's for my Feb 4th cruise

Good, I am glad you agree. Cruises are VACATIONS and should be stress free. You will be fine in whatever you choose to wear. We did it, my husband would take his jacket, suit and for what, one or two nights? Then we made a decision to never take Dress Up clothes and just do casual, maybe a dress slack and nice shirt. Easy packing. Isn't it enough to just pay for the cruise, tips, drinks and incidentals without worrying about dress up. Takes the enjoyment out of the planning and packing. Just go and relax. When is your trip? I have 22 on the January 26 EOS out of Baltimore. I am so done with the flying and their extra charges. We try to cruise from a local port. How about You?

Hi Radio

Great Posts...and beautiful pictures! Nice job.

Has EOS started using paperless "Ultimate Value Booklets" and loading coupons on your seapass card? If they have started going paperless how are they notifying persons what coupons are on their card? Thanks and enjoy your cruise.

We are on the Feb 4th cruise

We too like to just drive and avoid airports etc.

Plus this is a 12 cruise which I normally don't do cruises under 10 days the longer the better. We booked the Grandeur of the Seas in Feb of 2014 but sadly those are only 10 cruises .

We have never cruised this class of ships so this is all new to us.

The Grandeur we have been on 4 times and the Enchantment is our 2nd time. We love these ships and prefer to be on this size rather than the bigger ones. Not to say I wouldn't cruise the big ships. I will be anxious to hear what you think of the EOS. But not too anxious as both of our cruises will be over....

Dear Radio,

Thanks for your report. I don't know how you do it. I'm always so busy on a cruise I don't have time to write things down or post pictures. Glad you're having a great time. I also don't know why you get up so early. Cruises are my only time I can sleep in. Enjoy the rest of your cruise!!

I can answer that for you. Paperless value booklets will be rolled out starting on March 1-9, 2013 with Majesty, Legend, Splendor, Grandeur and Rhapsody and by the end of March it will be fleetwide.

Instead of the booklet, you will have waiting for you a sheet of paper (like Celebrity cruise line) indicating what coupons you have loaded on your seapass. I am told to check what you have left, have used you can go to guest relations- this info is subject to modification as RC rolls it out. You should also be able to check what you have used or have left on your television screen in the same way you check your seapass account. Since the coupons will be loaded onto your seapass and your seapass account is visible to you via your television screen, you will be able to keep track...

Not all of the ships have the TV access to information. So not sure how you will see what's loaded on your card without going to Guest Services.

I have never sailed on a ship that had the access on the TV. Usually sail on Grandeur or Enchantment.

I thought the exact same thing. All I can relay is that I was told the same thing on 3 different calls with 3 different people... that pax will be able to check their seapass from their cabin, on "all" ships.. I guess time and on board experience will tell. :)

GEORGE

I like the coupons but RCCL in their cost savings efforts have eliminated paper coupons and eliminated 12 day cruises out of Baltimore. As you know the 10 day cruises in 2014 cost about the same as our 12 day cruise. Where have we seen this before reduce the size of the package and charge the same price.

Looks like we will be going paperless in March. I guess you will want to use your coupons up this cruise.

Thanks. I liked the coupons for a variety reasons. Will see how the new paperless system works.

Hello everyone. . . Welcome to Day 4 of “LIVE” from Enchantment of the Seas.

The sun is shining, with no rain. The forecast for today in San Juan is 82F, and partly cloudy. We are scheduled to arrive at the pilot station at 2 PM today and dock in old San Juan by 3 PM. This is the roughest seas we have had so far. . We are pitching a lot, and the outer deck are closed (Deck 10) It is fun waling around in the passageways, and I am sure many passengers will have a sleep day on board.

My plans in San Juan are to visit the lovely Sheraton Hotel Casino across the street from Pier 3. I am pretty sure there is a Starbucks within a couple blocks that I may visit. I have until 11:30 PM to get back to the ship. With us in port today will be the beautiful Celebrity Silhouette. I sailed on Silhouette back in March/April on an 11 night cruise from Cape Liberty. That LIVE report can be read HERE.

I will think positive thoughts about my internet connection, because I tried it early this morning.. . An hour ago. . .and I am now able to post. @#$%& Ooops. . . =thinking positive, thinking positive=

Here are some pics from this morning. . . I will have some San Juan approach pics later today. . .

Thanks for tuning in !

Hello everyone. . . Welcome to San Juan, Puerto Rico.

First off. . .al little info about my Internet Access today. My last post from the ship was at 10PM last night. . . I have been unable to connect to any Internet all day, and no one on the ship could connect either.

I am currently in the Sheraton Casino San Juan (across the street from Pier 3) using their fast Network connection (very fast) I am not sure why the Wi-Fi connection on board has failed all day, but I have been assured that someone is working diligently to get it fixed. . . This Wi-Fi connection you see is the same connection that the crew uses. Rule # 1 is keeping the Crew happy ! What I just posted (5min ago) was a post that I made at 9AM this morning. . .I tried hourly to send it, but. . .I gues I didn't think enough positive thoughts !:(

I will have many pics that I will try and send before we leave San Juan tonight (late).

The comments I have received so far have been wonderful, and thank to everyone with your words of inspiration.

Its time for me see if the Sheraton Casino is "Radio freindly". . .It has to be. The Casino Royale on Enchantment is killing me. . .

Radio-great pics!

Can you tell me if you have noticed any new slot machines in the casino?

Thanks for the nice comments.

Yes, there are MANY new slot machines. . .there are slot machines that I looked for that were there when I sailed in August that may have been swapped out during drydock.
