Where's my muster station gonna be?

Recommended Posts

I'm new to RC, so please don't hate me.

I believe the listing above are categories? How do you know which category your cabin is? Or, where can I find this info for my particular cabin?

Thanks!

Gosh no...no one will ever hate you sweetie! We were all newbies once, and there

are many of us on board here that are happy to help with questions as best we can. :)

Muster stations are not decided based on cabin category or by deck, but on location within the ship. For example, if you are in a D2 category cabin forward on deck 10, you will report to a different location than D2 cabins in the aft section of deck 10. But if you know where your cabin is on the deck plan, i.e. forward, midship, aft, I might be able to pinpoint as I may have stayed near it on one of my previous cruises. Enjoy your cruise! Which ship are you on?

Oh, I understand. I didn't think stations were situated by class. I just thought that if I found someone with my cabin on a previous sailing (or close to it), that I would be directed to the muster station.

No big deal. But, just for giggles, I'll share: Allure, deck 12 midship (near the elevators) [emoji4]

I've seen some posts on other threads. Hoping if I preface my question with a white flag that some will choose to not respond with names, labels, or ridicule. Sometimes it's funny. Sometimes it's a bit much.

Unfortunately, for some reason, the main boards have had their share of mean and

nasty posters lately. It did not used to be that way. Venting frustrations? Bored

out of school on summer break? Just hoping it tames down a bit, since many

others have noticed these obnoxious types and are leaving the boards recently.

Fortunately there really are more sincere people on these boards that are willing

to help, than the "other ones". I am sorry you have to experience that when you

are new to the boards. Hopefully it will get better again. :)

Two of them posting here are on my ignore list for a reason.

They think they are funny, but they are just obnoxious and like to

torment. :(

Can't wait for elementary school to be back in session after summer break. ;)

You may want to put them on ignore also, like many others are doing.

:):):)

I also go look at the actual location of the lifeboat, as that is not the exact same on some ships as the muster station. Granted, in an actual emergency you start at the muster station and are then escorted by the staff to the lifeboat station.

So far, I've only witnessed the negativity. Honestly, I think some posts were begging for it.

My next cruise is all the way aft, in one of those corner aft balcony cabins.

I think a good swan dive with my life preserver would be the fastest choice.

Oh wait...I am cruising Alaska.....umm...never mind! :p

Unfortunately, I have not yet stayed in a midship cabin on Oasis class (but will on Harmony in April!) My guess for you is if you are near the forward elevator lobby, your muster station may be one of the ones in the entertainment district, for example comedy club, jazz lounge, Blaze, or karaoke club. If further aft-midship, your location will likely be on the Royal Promenade in an area such as the cafe or champagne bar. If that is the case than do arrive early, as there are not many seats at those stations! Right smack-dab in the middle of the ship will likely be Studio B, which, guessing by the location of my cabin on Harmony, I am fairly confident that will be my location, which definitely beats scorching out on deck like on the Liberty this past March! Enjoy your cruise, Allure is a great ship with more to do than any of us can do in one week! Any questions about the ship, activities/ venues onboard, etc., I'd be happy to answer!

I am fairly new to the boards too. I joined two years ago but have not used it very often, but am just now getting into it to do research for my upcoming cruise. I am probably the youngest person on here at 17, but my family and I have grown to love cruising and my 14-year-old brother and myself have made ourselves very knowledgable on cruise ships and are always eager to learn more at the Captain's Corner Q and A on the final day of each cruise. As far as what I've experienced, I don't think negativity isn't something you and I will be seeing regularly on here! Just here to learn from experienced cruisers.

LOL!! Thanks, ketchup packets in hand if needed!

We are JS cabin #11236. Nice not having to stand like sardines out there

on the promenade deck. :)

You never know when they'll come in handy! ;)

While it is comforting to be close to the lifeboats, I trust that the cruise line has a well-tested plan to get everybody off the ship in an emergency, and in my opinion, having muster in an air-conditioned venue makes it a lot easier to pay attention! Judging by your location, my guess would be the cafe on the Royal Promenade for 11236. Not a bad place, as long as there are enough seats! Enjoy your cruise- and that extra square footage on the balcony :D

When you say midship near the elevators, are you talking the forward elevators or the aft elevators? The aft elevator bank is more midship so I think you are talking those. We were on deck 6 by the aft elevators and our muster station was G4 which is in the aqua theater. It was very hot and crowded and not enough seats, so if you are one of the four muster stations that meet there, go early to get a seat in the shade. Also, unlike someone who said they weren't allowed to bring their soda cup to muster, we had no issues bringing ours with us. Many people also had beer and alcoholic drinks, which surprised me, hadn't seen that before.:)

Just checked--aft elevators (near the Diamond Club Lounge, I believe)

Sorry! We're on a hump, but I forgot that Allure has two humps.

We're starboard, if that helps at all.

We were port side but more aft of the aft elevators and it looks like you are forward of the aft elevators so not sure where your station might be.

What you could to is check youtube and see if you can find a video of your cabin, there are tons out there. Some people include everything, including the sign on the inside of the door with your muster location.:)

Thanks! Always one of our "to do's" when we first board anyway, is to check where our

muster station is. That way we are not wondering around clueless 10 minutes prior. ;)

Are you SURE you are only 17 years old? Your intelligence and good grammar make you

sound much older and experienced. My guess is that you will go far in life. :)

Talking about having some random photos from Allure. Hope this might solve some mysteries.

This makes a lot of sense! Thank you for putting this out here! I did not realize before that there was no A3 or A4, since all the other general muster station areas have 4 muster stations within themselves. It appears the crew also have their own assembly stations, which I had suspected but did not know for sure!

That is a great location! You can't beat the view of the ocean from a balcony. If I had to guess, your area may likely be assigned to either E1, the Royal Promenade area outside the Rising Tide Bar, which unfortunately has no seating- or E3, the Champagne Bar, which has limited seating. Either way, you're indoors so that's always a plus! Have a blast on this ship. One of my most memorable vacations to date.

Always a good idea! I too would hate to be caught up in that crowd at the start of muster without knowing where I'm headed.

As for my age, I am most definitely 17! My teachers say the same thing about my emails but I just tell them I strive to be as professional as I can be! Thank you very much for your kind words. That made my morning and I really appreciate it!

You are most deservedly welcome! So wonderful to see so much potential

in one so young. I am quite sure your parents are proud! :)
