CaribbeanCrush Posted March 20, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2013 I have a question about the sizes of the safe in the cabins on FOS. I am thinking about bringing an iPad and wondered if it would fit in the safe. Thanks
OKC Cruisers Posted March 20, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2013 Haven't been on Freedom, but have been on several of the Voyager class. I think the safes are the same. Wife and I were able to put our iPads in the safes, but it is a tight fit and, if I am remembering correctly, they would not lay flat. I'm pretty sure my wife will want to bring her tablet along as well. Thanks!
cb at sea Posted March 20, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 20, 2013 If something won't fit in the safe, lock it in your empty suitcase if you feel the need for it to be locked up. Otherwise, simply put it in a drawer....out of sight!
noobcruiser Posted March 20, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 20, 2013 For the folks that want more security: http://pacsafe.com/www/index.php?_room=3&activity_id=80 I have the PacSafe 100 which I use in Hawaii to store our cash\cards\id\phones in the rental car when we go to the beach. The gist is that the various bags are tamper\slash proof and then you secure them around some type of "permanent fixture" using a steel cable. CruisinMatt Posted March 20, 2013 #6 Share Posted March 20, 2013 I can't remember how the safes operate on RCCL - are they code based or do you use your Sea Pass? (I will be on Liberty of the Seas)
luvscruising2007 Posted March 20, 2013 #7 Share Posted March 20, 2013 All of the safes we have had on Royal Caribbean have been code based.

I'm wondering what in a stateroom would we be able to secure the pacsafe to that wouldn't be able to move around. Sorry, I'm not coming up with anything. (I will be on Liberty of the Seas) Code based on Liberty, but some of the older ships still have card swipe safes.

cruisegirl1 Posted March 20, 2013 #14 Share Posted March 20, 2013 If the item won’t fit in the safe, you can place it in a suitcase, lock it and place the suitcase in the closet. We do this often especially if traveling with a full size laptop or other electronics/large cameras. M

Sorry, I'm not coming up with anything. The places PACSAFE suggest in general: plumbing pipes, closet rods, cabinet\drawer handles. Basically anything that is inconvenient or improbable for a thief to break in a hotel or stateroom. Let's face it, a really determined thief can get around nearly anything, it's more about the inconvenience factor.

Sorry, I'm not coming up with anything. The TV stands that pull out have a little closed handle on them and the white, wire shelves in the closet are attached to the wall. kurukthemal Posted April 7, 2013 #20 Share Posted April 7, 2013 I know it is one of the older ships, but does MOS have safes? Specifically, ones that will accommodate an Ipad?
