Since you have an Owner's Suite, means you get to go into the Concierge Lounge..make sure you say hello to Mario, the concierge from Karen & Russ!

And please tell Mario that Karen & Russ' friends, John & Mary, also say hello!

Wish we were going along with you...

Hello everyone. . . I left the hotel a little later than I thought. I overheard one of the Marriott employees discussing some traffic trouble getting from the hotel to Bayonne. I asked for details and she suggested that I use a different way to get there. I went 2 miles south on the NJTP to Exit 13 (Goethals Bridge) and took that to Staten Island before getting over the Bayonne Bridge to Bayonne. It was very quick and very easy. . .The time was only 15min from the Marriott to Cape Liberty. . .

What a roundabout route, I never would have considered that. What a great idea to ask for the alternate directions.

Hello everyone. . . Explorer of the Seas left a little early today at 3:45. It was very cold out and only a handful stood out to watch the Sail away.

I had a great dinner onboard tonight, and was able to meet a lot of nice people (several Cruise Critic Members) On the way down to Casino Royale, I noticed RCI was presenting the “Bon Voyage” Parade. Many of the dancers, and entertainers were the stars of the show, while many ship personnel from different departments were in the Parade

.

Casino Royale was not very “Radio friendly" today, but the Cruise is young and I am confident that my luck will prevail. . .Well OK. . .It should repair. Then again, I guess is just the luck of the draw.

Here are a few pics from our departure, and I know it’s early but I am ready for the racks. . .

Thanks for tuning in. . .

Question?????

Do you still have land-based cell service going under the bridge, or is it through the ship at that time?

I would love to send a pic to my friends that usually cruise with us, but will not be coming with us on our upcoming cruise :(

It makes sense that you would be able to get a Verizon signal near the bridge, because they try to make sure that the vehicles crossing the bridge have a signal as well. I know when going down the Chespeake Bay, you can usually get a signal for a few minutes when you cross over the tunnel, as you are only a few hundred yards away from the island where the tunnel starts.
