luvscruising2007 Posted April 16, 2013 #177 Share Posted April 16, 2013 The painted surf boards were really nice. Did you find your owl?
Rare lazydayz Posted April 16, 2013 #178 Share Posted April 16, 2013 Thanks for doing this. So exciting to be sailing with you. Our turn is May 11 for the repo cruise. Have you tried the self-leveling pool tables? So cool. Enjoy!
MrFunInTheSun Posted April 16, 2013 Author #179 Share Posted April 16, 2013 Bye bye Carnival Glory. They sailed at 6:50. A van pulled up with four or five people. Most likely a cruise excursion that was delayed. Our turn next one our own pier runners make it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Please excuse any typographical errors. MrFunInTheSun Posted April 16, 2013 Author #181 Share Posted April 16, 2013 Over the PA a few moments after the last group the Fitzpatrick brothers from deck 2 were called. Passports and what looked like a birth certificate was handed over to the guy with white shirt and poney tail. All the people there were making tons of phone calls. Ten minutes later or so they find the two brothers are in a taxi can, guy with white shirt and poney tail hand back the passport and birth certificate to a ship officer... Then a few moments later our last two pier runners that won the RC lottery. The Fitzgerald brothers We pulled away at 7:15 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Please excuse any typographical errors. MrFunInTheSun Posted April 16, 2013 Author #183 Share Posted April 16, 2013 More Premium Beverage package information. I brought these back on board with me with no issues. Water station for a drink at the pier. Nice touch. They also have a covered area with chairs that was already broken down before I boarded back on the ship. Didn't get a picture. Although I may have with my Key West set. Well it's time to get some dinner, Till a later time, "Live" from the Jewel of the seas... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. UNV-IT!!! Posted April 17, 2013 #184 Share Posted April 17, 2013 Thanks for the pic of the rear of the ship. I got to see my room. Ill be 10th floor(below windjammer) and dead center. Woot. And love the little surf board. I have one of those paintings but on a larger piece of wood.
DarthGrady Posted April 17, 2013 #185 Share Posted April 17, 2013 Great Cozumel coverage. Good job on calling out the pier runners as well!:D I think the cruise lines should get into the habit of calling out folks names as they saunter back to the ship. "Bing Bong! Attention guests: This is Mr./Mrs. _________ from cabin number_________ currently boarding the ship, late! They are why your legs are getting tired from standing, waiting to watch sail away. Be sure to greet them warmly as they make their way back on board!" Obviously the ones on cruise line excursions or with medical issues get a pass. But the ones with the balloon hats and yard stick glasses get the full treatment.:D
MrFunInTheSun Posted April 17, 2013 Author #186 Share Posted April 17, 2013 Good Evening Cruisers... Today's been a great day in Cozumel and aboard the Jewel of the Seas. I don't have all that much more to say from my earlier post of our fun pier runners. I did call them the Fitzpatrick brothers when they are in fact the Fitzgerald brothers. They are on my same deck, I caught one of them talking to our cabin attendant. He told me they got caught on the ferry from the main land. Oh yeah, and they are here with work friends (probable Continental Tires) and they would be getting lots of grief and it'd be on the Internet. I didn't have the heart that it already was and I was doing a "Live" trip report. :-) I didn't find the owl today but settled for the below. Tonight's Menu. Tonight's favorite drink do far, Key Lime Pie Martini. 70,s party in the Centurim... Ship is in total relax mode, you can feel the energy. Alright I'm back at the cruise excitement. Tonight's towel animal. My cabin steward Francis is pretty cool. He is on this ship from the Monarch of the Seas....he told me about 40-50 people bused over from that ship. He's got about 2 months left of his contract. Till a later time, "Live" from the Jewel of the Seas... Dinner was great, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Please excuse any typographical errors. MrFunInTheSun Posted April 17, 2013 Author #187 Share Posted April 17, 2013 Good Morning and Welcome to day 5. Can't believe we are on day 5 already, I really do not want to get off the ship tomorrow. I should have turned this cruise into a back to back, oh well. My view from where I'm posting this Last night was a late night, while I'm not hung over per say I'm beat but relaxed. Last night and today so far the ship has been rocking and rolling a bit. I didn't check our stats but would guess we are cruising along about 21 knots and the winds are about 23 or so. The sky's are party cloudy and warm of course. Day 5 Compass Well off for a bit, guess I should see about food at some point. I'll be back later, I've got quite a bit of Internet time left as I bought a bit to much for this trip. I've taken and will be taking more pictures from around the ship from my real camera and will post those once I'm home. Pictures from a real camera still don't give this ship justice in how beautiful she is. Till a later time, "Live" from the Jewel of the Seas... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. axid Posted April 17, 2013 #189 Share Posted April 17, 2013 Great pics. Cozumel coverage was fun to see all those pics - I remember walking by that Mega store and going to Margaritaville after our Passion Island excursion. Fun times.
tpath11 Posted April 17, 2013 #190 Share Posted April 17, 2013 Im trying to decide if the drink pkg is worth buying. my cruise is 5 days 4 nights. Naturally the last day will be just getting off the ship. Do they charge 55 for the 5 days or the 4 nights? I think that would be the deciding factor for me. PS: really enjoyed your posts! im cruising tomorrow on your boat! :) ~ Darlene

PS: really enjoyed your posts! im cruising tomorrow on your boat! :) ~ Darlene You pay for the 5 days so your first night counts. The drink package is fun and knowing at the end what your cost is. With that said I most likely will not purchase the premium drink package again. On paper 7-8 drinks looks easy and if discipline yourself to stick with what you normally drink it would be ok. But some days drinking those 7-8 drinks to make the package pay for itself is a bit much. Some days it's just to much. Just my opinion. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. MrFunInTheSun Posted April 17, 2013 Author #194 Share Posted April 17, 2013 It's been a beautiful sea day! Wishes at sea...I made my $10 donation and got my shirt but didn't do the walk. Think I did enough walking yesterday and Key West for a few days. Pool deck is lively today. A few "reserved" seats. Rhythm is currently playing pool side and ever so good. Mr fun in the sun isn't having fun in the sun today. :-) Got enough sun yesterday during my walk without sun block. It should tan quickly though and get me ready for our wonderful Florida summers. JandBR_PHX Posted April 17, 2013 #196 Share Posted April 17, 2013 As far as I'm concerned that's a big :D:D:D, not a :(... I FAR prefer the Radiance Class ships in their pre-drydock form... I'd be happy if they never made the changes!!! I guess the only thing I'd be happy about changing on the Radiance-class ships is the TV. Put a flat screen in to give me a little more room to put all my & DW's JUNK! It'd also be nice to be able to plug in and review the day's photos/video on the TV. Langley Cruisers Posted April 17, 2013 #197 Share Posted April 17, 2013 Gator cake in the Windjammer Ah yes, I remember the gator cake. :D Impressive, although not really all that tasty. :p Did they serve the ribs in WJ this day too? They were phenomenal.
nivek82 Posted April 17, 2013 #198 Share Posted April 17, 2013 What a great live thread! Reminds me of when I was there a month ago. Also great points about the drink package. The one picture of all that's included is great and I didn't even see that when I bought the package and on that ship! My thoughts on the package were like yours though. I did it but prob not again because it was a bit much for that many days in a row. Never got hungover or sick but prob would not of bad that "one more or two" at night if I had to pay more for it. Love the review and pictures!
