Designated Smoking Areas

....... not looking to start any controversy here, was well aware of Celebritys restrictive policies which I have no issue with, but still a light smoker and like enjoy my morning cigarette as well as one after a big dinner. I understand that the Celebrity Solstice ships (Eclipse in this case) have 2 designated smoking areas and I was just trying to nail down their exact locations. We are booked on the Resort deck aft C2 and somewhere I read one of the areas was aft poolside on this deck which definitely would be the most convenient possible if correct.

Smoking pretty much on the S-Class ships in the following areas:

Deck 15 - Sunset Bar, port side

Deck 14 - Mast Bar, starboard side

Deck 12 - Pool Deck, port side aft section (this is the only covered area)\

Deck 6 - Port side around the Hump area.

That should read Deck 5 port side around the hump.... :-) Deck 6 cabins would get pissed off if you were smoking on their verandahs LOL

Thank you very much, we are right down the hallway on the port side in a C2 so even though it is always nice to have your own balcony to smoke on I'm sure I will find it fairly convient. Hopefully by travel time I will have kicked these last few cigarettes but must admit I'm having my difficulties.

Love Celebrity but do have a problem there is NO place INSIDE to smoke a cigarette after dinner. :(

You can go up to the Sunset Bar after dinner, have a cognac, and breath some fresh salt air in between puffs. :)

Smoking is not permitted on your balcony. You will have to go to the above mentioned areas to smoke.

I'm fighting the good fight too. Best of luck to you.

  • 2 weeks later...

On the Equinox in April there were over 300 smokers on board and they had access to 3 small tables with a total of 12 seats on the pool deck. The mast bar had 5 tables always taken with non smokers. Some people who wished to have a cigarette and a glass of wine or a cognac were risking a fine and sitting on there balconies because there was no where else for them.

I know this is a very touchy subject on theses boards. I was on Reflection last month and I am a cigar smoker. I like the flavor of certain cigars and having a nice glass of bourbon or single malt scotch during the sail away and after dinner, call me crazy. I have never smoked a cigarette in my life. The sail away thing is kind of a ritual now, done on the last 25 sailings. The Reflection had a good number of tables available at the pool and Sunset bar's available for smokers. Maybe I just got there before everyone else. I fully appreciate that some folks just don't want to be around while someone is smoking, be it the smell and the health risk. I get it. IMHO Celebrity is doing the right thing by limiting the smoking areas. With that said they should be flexible and adjust the on deck smoking areas if it is warranted. Just my 2 cents....:)

Only one area on Reflection permits cigar smoking; it in a section of the Lawn Club. There is a nearby bar to order beverages and comfortable chairs out there.

On our cruise last month, the smoking area was always full and everyone looked like they were having fun and making new friends. Almost made me want to take up smoking :).

In the smoking areas most are always so friendly and new friends are quickly made ... all are just happy to be around others who don't hate them because they smoke!

Time to reintroduce the crow's nest. You could puff on that stogie to your heart's content while keeping a sharp eye out for icebergs and Mobie Dick's progeny! :D

Same here. Cigar Smoker. Never smoked a cigarette either. I know I will be enjoying my 14 day up in the mast bar. Looks like a great open spot to puff away the evenings.

That would be SO cool! I'll smoke maybe one cigar a year but I'd definitely have one in a crow's nest.

Only cigarette smoking at the mast bar. Cigar smoking on the S-Class ships is only Port Side up on Deck 15 by the Sunset Bar.

Please note Wine-O's posting of the proper place to have a cigar. Only one spot on M & S class ships for cigar smoking. Us cigar smokers don't need a worse rap than we already get. Fortunately when the weather is nice we have about the best spot on the whole ship to enjoy a cigar. Take advantage of it.

Just because I have been on S and not M class ships, where are the areas on M class ships?

Deck 10 - Pool bar + large area just aft of pool - port side

Deck 11 - Mast Bar - port side

Deck 10 - Sunset Bar aft - port side (only area that allows cigars)

Deck 4 - port side - outside casino, MDR, and theater

Hope this helps!

Oh so true....we had some of our best moments last year with the smoking group....we shared many good times. We also met a wonderful couple from the UK that we hung with off the ship also.

This year, I'm fighting the good fight too....whew! It's not easy, and even worse now that the weather is nice and I can be out in my patio area.

I've always tried to be conscious of others when I smoked...I know some people are extremely sensitive to it....hubby hates the smell and cigar smoke just about drives him wild....yep...X smoker, he is.

Absolutely the best spot on the ship for a cigar.

I'm seeing conflicting information about where cigars are allowed on Reflection. Some sources say Mast Bar, port side. Others say Sunset bar. Anyone have a definitive answer to this question?

First off, the Mast Bar is on the Starboard side. The Mast Grill is on the Port side.

The "others" are correct - cigar smoking at the Sunset Bar, Port side.
