You cannot use your SeaPass card to play the games. However, you can use your SeaPass card to get cash from the casino cashier. This would cost you 3%.

I don't know about Serenade of the Seas, but if the machines do accept your SeaPass card, it's only for accumulating points that can be exchanged for trinkets, t-shirts, and even small amounts of cash at the end of the cruise.

Consider joining Club Royale.

introduce yourself to a casino host when you first get there & tell them you are interested.

Do not believe what you see in writing about it. It goes by the points you accumulate by inserting your sea pass card in the machine. I usually play quarter machines but play a lot.

If you get get enough points, you must join at the end of the cruise....then you have it made!

They are more generous than a land casino club.

You will get a very generous discount on you next Royal or Celebrity cruise.

You also get other perks like free drinks in the casino. You do not have to pay the 3percent cash advance.

They put a special sticker on you sea pass card. We will be on the Allure soon. Showing that also will get us into the shows early without reservations on the Allure & Oasis.

I've always played quarter machines max bet, for about 3 hours or more a day. Is this enough to contact the casino host on the first day, or will they tell me that's not enough? I thought I read that you need to accumulate over 5,000 points before the casino host will do anything. I only accumulate about half that.

The magic number, at least for a week-long cruise, is 2,000 points. One point is $5 wagered.

Once you get to 2,000 points, if the casino host doesn't come and find you, go up and introduce yourself and they'll get you signed up for Club Royale.

By my second day of my first cruise last month, my host brought me out a green Casino Royale golf shirt, with a letter telling me I was now a member. The letter states it is an invite only players club. I had a little over 2,000 points at the end of the my 3 day cruise. I got $40 back for that. The machines did use the Sea Pass cards - and acted as a player's club card. The machines gave TITO's out - but there were no machines to cash them in at - you had to see the cashier.

I forget what the magic number for points is. I think about 300 a day or 2100 for a 7 day cruise. It really does not matter what denomination you play. Obviously, a dollar machine will give you points faster than a quarter machine.

Just ALWAYS put your card in !

Sometimes I feel like I will only be there 5 minutes but have luck & stay an hour. I want every single point I can get.

I might not play one day but then a little extra the next.

If you feel you have made enough points & the casino host has not got in touch with you.....TRACK THEM DOWN !

You must 'officially' sign up before the casino closes on the last night. After that....your points are wiped out for signing up.

My husband was approached by the casino host with a letter to join. He had (at the time he was approached 2,200 points). The following cruise he was given $300 cash in the casino when we boarded. Our upcoming cruise they are giving him $100, but we didn't play as much on the previous cruise. Also, some mornings (sea days, I believe), they will mark in the compass that it's double points in the casino. I think it's from 9:00am-11:00am. That helps build up points also. Just don't forget, as others have posted, always play with your sea pass inserted (green light means it's in correctly). Good luck!

Good information. Because my first cruise was a free cruise through M Life, I don't get the "rebate" on my next cruise, but was still invited to join the players club.

I was excited when I saw OP's original post, asking whether slot machines pay off in cash or with a ticket. You mean they actually pay out?

In my experience, they just take my money, play a little music, flash some lights, and maybe some of them will let me watch or play a little movie. I must love that music and those little lights, since I always end up spending some time in the Casino onboard.

It does happen sometimes (that you win). Several years back on the Freedom, my husband could NOT lose on one particular slot machine. I would make such a rukus when he'd win something (even though it was only a little amt), that it drew attention. Eventually everyone was wanting to play our machine. I thought there had to be a malfunction because it would continue to go crazy about every 30 to 40 mins. Apparently not, because it was in service all week and we probably walked home with $700 or $800 at the end of the week from this machine. We did see a lady get on it after us and she won a ton more because she did max bet. Her winnings was in the thousands. Looking back, we prob should have bet max, oh well, what did we know! Good luck!
