lovetocruise2020 Posted August 27, 2013 #27 Share Posted August 27, 2013 I think it is a very good value from a V cat for 12 nights.

Rare Crew News Posted August 27, 2013 #29 Share Posted August 27, 2013 No we have never been in any suite before just done verandas. Did I do the right thing in getting the SB wrap around? Ive heard these are hard to come by. Or should I have picked a SA mid ship? Congratulations on your aft wrap. We have to book more than a year in advance to get one of them. Your verandah can hold 35 folks standing shoulder to shoulder at the railing. The 270-degree view in the aft wrap compares to only 180 degrees in an SA cabin. If your DH is a photographer, he will be thrilled. It is a two-minute elevator ride to both Lido Restaurant and down to the Main Dining Room. You are a short elevator ride from the Room Service kitchen which means perfect temperature food. The same short elevator ride to the Lido Restaurant works for late night snacks or coffee 24/7. You are close enough to also bring food back to your cabin and it will still be warm (love nachos for an afternoon snack). You can stand on your verandah and be out of the wind that others endure when the ship is at sea. If the weather gets bad, you can just walk around the corner of her verandah and escape it. IMHO an aft wrap is the best suite on any ship. Enjoy it!!!

wwinfl91 Posted September 12, 2013 #32 Share Posted September 12, 2013 Just agreed to an upsell to Neptune suite SA for $499 a person for a 17 day Panama Canal cruise on the Zuiderdam. We have never done Neptune class on HAL and hopefully it will be worth the extra money. We did a grand suite on RCL for a transatlantic and really enjoyed it. Almost as much as our 2 Seabourn cruises. Have a great next cruise.

OlsSalt Posted September 12, 2013 #39 Share Posted September 12, 2013 Just a quick survey.Would you pay 599 for an upsell from a V category to a Neptune on Nieuw Amsterdam? We always divide the upgrade price by the days we cruise and then think about it. We recently got a nice Neptune upgrade offer on a 28 day cruise on the Prinsendam that penciled out for us very nicely, whereas earlier offers did not. BumperII Posted September 12, 2013 #40 Share Posted September 12, 2013 (edited) We just had our first SA stateroom on the Amsterdam after a cruising career of booking inside. WOW! What a difference. DW loved it, and her reaction led me to believe she really wanted to be there all along! Bye the Bye, we booked this as a result of an upsell from a veranda. We will probably never pay full price for a Neptune Suite, but we will be booking Veranda guarentees in the future so that we are in a position to take advantage of an upsell promotion. That first experience in a Neptune Suite was as enjoyable as our first cruise experience.:D You are going to love it. Bon Voyage!! Almost as much as our 2 Seabourn cruises. Have a great next cruise. You will love the Neptune Suite. We have also stayed in Grand Suites on RCL. While the suite size is similar, the verandahs are much nicer with the Neptune Suite and there is no comparison between the amenities offered in the Neptune Lounge on HAL and the Concierge Lounge on RCL. If you do a thread search, you will find previous threads on the differences between the Neptune Suites on HAL and the Grand Suites on RCL. I wouldn't hesitate to book either a Neptune Suite on HAL or a Grand Suite on RCL; however, my first choice will always be the Neptune Suite on HAL. barbarah33 Posted September 12, 2013 #46 Share Posted September 12, 2013 We have also always taken the SA's - mostly because they are so close to the Neptune Lounge, but now I am hearing how great the aft-wraps are and I'm wondering if we should try one. We have the NA booked for February and it has a couple of aft-wraps available that we could switch to.

boze9999 Posted October 6, 2013 #48 Share Posted October 6, 2013 One of the best Neptune perks is getting double sailing days Mariner credits. Typically HAL policy on upgrades: when upgrading from a non-Neptune Suite, double Mariner Days do not apply. You have to book in a Neptune Suite to get the double days. Nonetheless, all of the on-ship benefits of the upgrade are well worth it! You made the right choice!

EXCEPT --> If you are booked (Vista & Signature ships) in an SS-SY-SZ those cabins already qualify for double Mariner Days. So, upsells from those categories already have their double days.
