Hope you have a great time Marcia! Jealous that you are cruising, but know you will have fun in the warm weather

Thanks Gwen, wish you were here too. I live in warm weather so this doesn't mean as much to me as it would to some of you. But it is great to get away and travel with friends. My BIL, SIL and niece are also on the cruise so that is great also.

Hi Pia, I have been following your adventures for about the last year but never have left a comment. I appreciate you taking the time to bring us along. I will be sailing on the Crown Feb. 15th around the horn for 49 days and am concerned about the problems I have been reading about. I will be staying in C624 and was wondering if you would please walk down that way and see if there are any bad smells by that cabin. If there is I may ask my travel agent to try to find us another room, 49 days is a long time :confused:. Thank you and enjoy your cruise.........Debra

I cruised on the Crown Princess in 2000 but I don't think it was the ship you are on when looking at the deck plans??? Is this true or am I crazy? Karen

The Crown Princess you were on in 2000

is now cruising with P&O Australia

as Pacific Jewel.

She has had a few name changes on the way...

Pacific Jewel Facts:

Formerly:

* Crown Princess,

* A'Rosa Blue

* Ocean Village 2

Year built: 1990

Refurbished: 2002, 2007, 2009

Pia, we were cruising part of Oct and most of Nov so just got around to reading your Live From the Royal yesterday. Just as I was going to send you an email, I noticed you had just left on your Crown....lol.:) will catch up with you next week when you return.

Why did they tell you to go over to the table with your 2 bottles of wine? Does Princess no longer allow a bottle of wine per person? I assume 1 of the bottles was Mike's and your friends only had 1 bottle.

Enjoy the week and "talk" to you later.:D

My guess is that they want to make note that a person has brought on boad the allowed number of bottles so that if a person leaves the ship and then comes back with more wine, they know to charge the corkage fee on them.

It’s Monday and the first of our two sea days. Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day, albeit a bit windy. Today is expected to hit 80, with sun coming and going.

The only excitement for us last night was in the casino. We won. And then we lost. Won again and lost again. But it took a while and we had lots of laughs.

Lots more Christmas decorations have appeared, especially in the Atrium. All staircases have garlands draped throughout; illuminated. Horizon Court has various shaped wreaths hanging from the glass partitions, one of which is too big and is going to scratch someone. I called it to the attention of the staff; pretty sure nothing will happen until someone gets hurt.

A whole lot happening today and one is a movie on Channel 24 in the cabin. It’s “Cayman Went” and will show continuously from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. I’ll look it up. Have never know them to do this. Interesting title. Sounds like a spoof.

Morning schedule consists of: Zumba, 3 hour only sale (that’s the $10 stuff; you know the 75% off sale will be on the 2nd sea day), movie Mamma Mia

on MUTS, fruit and veggie demo and the pub lunch.

Afternoon offerings have some variables. You can go to the pop choir rehearsal, do journal making at arts and crafts, see Elf on MUTS, see the movie Jobs in the theater, or do horse racing in the Piazza. But the spa really is outdoing themselves, because you can lose 1 - 8 inches in an hour and follow that up with a 15 minute facelift. But wait. You might want to walk in comfort with good feet. If that’s the case you’ll just have to choose between your feet and your face. Both are scheduled at the same time. :rolleyes: At 4:00 Way, Way Back is showing on MUTS and 4:30 brings a Captain’s Circle party for Gold and Ruby passengers in the Princess theater.

Tonight’s highlights: Monday Night Football on MUTS, That 70’s Night in Explorer’s and production show Destination Anywhere in the theater. Stateroom featured movie is Dirty Dancing on Channel 21 (that’s the Wake Show channel) and the Cayman movie finally ends at 9 when Charlie Chan on Broadway begins. This one should be interesting. Charlie Chan? Last time I heard that name I was 10 years old.

Responses:

1. Mary: they were sending everyone with any amount of liquid over to the table

2. Elcyd: got it! :D

3. Tracie: will send you my phone number when I get home on the 26th

David and I are on board with Pia and Mike. We are the good ones. :p Pia was informed earlier that Capt Yeomans IS on board. So far everything is ship shape. Toilets working well and we had to raise the a/c because we were chilly.

Enjoy your cruise Marcia Hope David is well

Why could the treadmills not be used until 9am?

Deb

Thanks for taking us along with you! Any chance they'll change the time restrictions in the gym? 9 seems late to get started! :confused:

I believe the time is set to 9 am as the cabins just below the treadmills hears the pounding of those running on the treadmill. 9 am sounds reasonable time to set for those in the cabins below before the noise starts.

I have never had one of these cabins below the gym but would try to stay away from them because of the noise.

Cayman Went is the story of Josh Anders, a fading Hollywood underwater action star whose life takes on new meaning when he's forced to spend time with the eccentric, endearing inhabitants of Cayman Brac and their local dive community. (2009 movie staring Michael Lombardi, Susan Misner, Jeffrey DeMunn)

What? They can't work on both ends at the same time?

Enjoying your live from

Why could the treadmills not be used until 9am?
Because they are directly over passenger cabins who don't like being awakened or have to hear the thump, thump, thump. There are constant complaints (justifiably so) about the treadmills when used early in the morning. Poor ship design. Edited by Pam in CA
