Set Sail Pass under hubbies name

 Share

Recommended Posts

Our Set Sail Passes are ready to print. I just find it interesting that it is all under dh name and not mine. I booked the cruise, I paid for the cruise (card in my name only) and yet all the areas that need signed are for his name only. My name seems to be added in two places all most as an after thought.

I am surprised that there is no where for me to sign at all.

We use cash only. But it would have been my card. I put my name first when I signed us up. RCI seems to like the mail name first. I don't take it personal. I just wish I got my own paperwork to sign and my own Set Sail pass.

I believe it's related to how the online check-in information is filled out. Whoever's info filled out first and accepts the agreement for the other person is the one who has to sign.

Interesting...I only remember there being one name on the set sail. But I just looked at our pass for the Explorer this weekend, and both of our names are on it. There is only one signature required, and that is mine as passenger #1.

Darn those "mail" names :D...You could have easily gotten your own paperwork/SetSail pass..not usually a problem..depending on how you filled everything out..but no matter now...Enjoy your cruise :)

Ours shows my name as it should however this happened to me with our first cruise last year on CCL. I booked the cruise, put my name first and paid for everything with a cc card with my name on it only. Everything we have received since from them is addressed to him. They called one night to get us to book another cruise. DH answered and told them I was in charge of cruises and make those decisions. I spoke to the rep and she said she would change it on their end. Never happened.

Ok, I'll admit that I "may" be a bit over sensitive on this issue. I initiated our cruise, I booked it, I paid using the credit card with my name on it and I'm doing all the preparation, research and and and EVERYTHING!!! yet DH is listed as the primary traveller. In this case I booked through a TA so she probably entered our names with his first, but even in my email to her I put my name first! The only reasoning I could think of is that she did it in order of birthdate.

Phew - got that off my chest. I'll just drink extra cocktails once onboard. Happy for him to pay that bill at the end. :p

You are not alone -- same deal -- husband is first even though I booked and the credit card we use is mine and the C&A account is mine as well (I have one more cruise than him). I could understand if they did it alphabetically but if so, then I'm first! Just an observation!

Oh, I have to laugh at my misspelling of male/mail. I am usually such a picky person about stuff like that. :)

So glad you didn't take the fact that I got a laugh from (mail vs male) as anything other than a bit of fun :D:D..It happens to me too :)

On our Set Sail Pass, because the Credit Card to be used is in my name, then my name is the only signature required. Whereas for our daughter and SIL, they will use their own Credit Card so their Set Sail Pass will require both signatures when Printed out. Since I am always the one who books, RCCL probably has me down as the Primary.

Same here! My wife is always first!

We assumed it was alphabetical (K before M). Although it could be birthday. I do the booking, SetSail, and credit card...

Which us funny because I sign as the credit card holder

Another great Royal Caribbean mystery!

This happened to me last cruise. The card is in my name, I paid, booked, prebooked all the extras and his name was first. The only inconvenience I found was looking at the interactive tv, my purchases were moved to his name. Not that it was a big deal but it was the first time that it's ever happened!

This reminds me of something...I shared a room with a friend and I am Diamond but she isn't. We had separate folios and paid our room charges separately. The Captains Club benefits are now automatic and not on coupons. This presented a huge issue when I used the telephone to call home, as it ended up on my friend's account and at regular price, as she was folio #1. We had to go to guest relations to have the charge switched to my folio, but it was still full price. I was afraid to use the phone after that, and it was not straightened out until the morning of disembarkation. They kept telling us that the Diamond discount was automatic but it wasn't in this case.

Sounds like that's a situation (different phone rates in the same stateroom) they had not anticipated with the electronic coupon rollout. Thanks for the heads up.

All you have to do is go back in to your documents and change that he only accepts responsibility for himself and not you on the cruise contract you will get your own because you will have to accept responsibility for your self. My husband and I always have separate set sail passes because his is a cash only account and my is on a credit card.

I have had this issue with all communications from RCL & Celebrity. All Captains Club & RCL mailings come with my husbands name, not mine. Not just that I'm the one who books, list self as #1, etc. but I have sailed both lines without him a significant number of times and have higher status. Never have been able to get an answer as to why everything always defaults to him. Strange.

I like this thread. when my wife and I cruise, she books the cruise, and makes all of the plans. But they use my credit card , both for the cruise and the onboard account. Her name must be first, because when I charge something the charges first show up under my name, but are then transferred to the primary account, under her name. Generally, this never presents a problem, and could care less, we are on a cruise and that is what counts.

but we take a lot of B2B cruises, and on the second leg of the cruise, in theory, that account information is supposed to transfer automatically from one cruise to the next, and for DW it does, but not always for me.

On a lot of occasions, I end up being on a cash account. The first time it happened , I was trying to get money from the account in the casino, and was told the reason was I had a cash account. So I went t GS and got it straightened out. Since then, I usually check early in the second leg just to be sure.
