"Live" from the Legend of the Seas - January 13, 2014

Recommended Posts

And for all of my friends over on the fashion board, here is today's outfit. That is the 50 cent macrame purse I bought at a church rummage sale and dyed blue a few months back.

(Cross posting from the Roll Call thread):

Flew down. Flight was perfect. Checked into Sleep Inn (our third time here) in Dania/Hollywood. Great rate 0 nice small pool. HUGE Publix for lunch and wine and then walked the mile (easy straight road) to beach and about a 2 mile walk along the Broadwalk (The way they spell it as it is stone, not wood.) Great restaurant across the street. Tomorrow at 10am they will shuttle us to the ship. THEN the fun begins.)

I do not think I could have finished one more drink. Three glasses of wine, and again at least 8 oz, almost finished me for the evening. I am glad we found each other. Of course we loved the late night water taxi ride. We went from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. The lights were amazing along the waterway. Thanks for the everything. It was kind of romantic with the almost full moon and genial breeze. H

I swear I am like a 5 year old on Christmas morning. I couldn't sleep anymore due to the excitement and decided to hang out on our balcony and watch the Legend sail in. SHE'S HERE!!! I will definitely be hitting the gym this morning to work off some of this extra energy.

I will post from the ship this afternoon. :D

I knew you would be up watching the Legend sail in to port from your balcony. I will be doing the exact same thing in 11 days! Then it will be my turn to board! :D

Have an awesome cruise, I am sure you will! I can't wait for you to board and start your "LIVE" posting FROM the Legend!! It will be like I am right there with you, and will then know what all I can see and do while I am on my 11 night on my 2nd half of my B2B!

I'll be waving to you as you leave today!! Also Bony Voyage to Harry & Joyce. Tell them I'll see them at our sailaway in 11 days.

This morning we checked out of the hotel at 10:30 and headed over to Terminal 18. By 11:15 we were on the ship. This was the fastest embarkation to date. I did find it funny that the Diamond and new cruiser lines were huge, but no one was in the Gold line. We skipped the embarkation picture, as usual, and headed on the ship with Harry and Joyce.

They opened Windjammer early, so that is where we grabbed a bite to eat. Since I am still on Weight Watchers I had a salad, Wahoo, and grilled vegetables. Everything was good and hot. It is fortunate that we got up there early because within 10 minutes it was a zoo! After we ate lunch we stood up and the vultures, I mean fellow passengers, swarmed our table. We were lucky to make it out of there in one piece.

Next up was our traditional embarkation beers by the pool. We found some loungers in the shade to hang out while we wait for our cabin to be ready at 1pm.

Ok, there were some pre-cruise questions about dining and bars on embarkation, so here it goes…

Lunch Options are Café Latte-tudes on deck 6 or Windjammer Café on deck 9. That’s it.

Open Bars are as follows:

R Bar on Deck 4 opened at 11am

The Pool Bar on Deck 9 opened at 11am

Schooner Bar on Deck 4 opened at 11am

Viking Crown Lounge on Deck 11 opened at 3pm

Plan your cruise experience stuff:

Shore Excursion Deck 1pm on Deck 5

Sports Desk 4:30pm Deck 10 Rock Wall

Vitality Day Spa 11am Deck 9

Dining Room seating changes 11:30am Deck 4 dining room

My Time Dining Reservations 1pm Deck 5 dining room

Casino 6pm Deck 4

Shops 6:30pm Deck 5

That’s it for now…

I forgot to mention going through security. I will preface this with, I love Walt, but you can't take him anywhere. You know those people that have to keep going through security because they don't take everything out of their pockets? That was Walt. 5 tries to get through. I just shook my head and laughed. The lady behind Walt seemed miffed. Oh well, we are on vacation...what's the hurry?

We did the same back in November, made a bee line to Windjammer before the crowd. It was a beautiful day so ended up eating out outside and watched the line of passengers grow across the pool deck. :D

Looks to be a gorgeous day for sail away.

Lisa, my DH does the same thing. He is so worried that I will trip the alarms because of my knee replacements that he forgets to empty all the stuff in his own pockets. Men, can't live with or without them:D

I love your dress!!

This is my husband with airport security! The last time we were with our 6 yr old grandson. He (husband) had to go to secondary inspection because of his belt. While at least I was able to stand nearby. I was not too happy. Our grandson thought it just interesting.

The water taxi is hop on hop off or you can just stay on it. The $22 is all day and night. They run it until 11pm at night on the weekends. If we want, we could just hop back on it this evening. If you want to do a round trip it is 2 hours. You can also get off at the Hilton Marina and take the Hollywood water taxi down there for no additional charge. It is 45 minutes to Hollywood, so if you stay on it then it's 1.5 hours round trip.

Their website lists the schedule as well as the stops. http://www.watertaxi.com

Thank you so much for the information, sounds like it something we will like to do when we get to FFL. We havn't booked anything yet except for the cruise itself, in November 2014 - so maybe we will fly in two days early. :D

I found out from our fellow CC'ers that the Park Cafe in the Solarium is open at embarkation. Walt and I wandered over there during our Paparazzi expedition of the ship and found out that it is indeed open. Walt, of course, tried one of the brownies.

Next up are pictures of the ship. I am using photobucket, so if you click on a picture it will take you to the entire album. Too many pics to put on CC.
