I am doing a back to back cruise. My question is, on the second leg, if I am changing cabins, will the cabin steward move all my luggage to the cabin. Also, do I have to pack everything. Will they transfer the clothes that is in the closet or do I have to pack them also.

You need to pack everything up but leave clothes on the hangers. They will move you or you can move yourself.

Empty your safe first though, it needs to be empty and left open.

Visit your new room Attendant so they will clean your room first, then you can move your things over if you wish. We prefer to do that on our B2Bs. Done many staying in the same cabin or changing cabins.

Most times we are all moved before meeting to be escorted off and back on again.

Enjoy your B2B, they are the BEST!!!

This has been our experience as well. On our recent Liberty B2B we had to pack the clothes in our closet as our cabin steward said he did not have one af the carts with the rods to move hanging clothes.

Also, keep checking cabins available while you are waiting for your cruise date. One or the other could be cancelled and you may not have to move. Or you may sea another cabin available for both cruises. It only takes a phone call to change cabins, and no charge unless you upgrade.

Same here.

 

Seems what works best for us is if we move the repacked suitcase to the new cabin and then have the cabin attendant ( the old one or new one) move the hanging clothes a little later. We usually have a chat with the new attendant, and if the previous occupants vacate on time, he/she will service the cabin first so we can move in as early as possible. That way, we can get in the new cabin with our suitcase fairly early and get the drawers etc reorganized. We really don’t mind changing cabins.

 

 

Just a suggestion, we ask for extra hangers on the first leg and hang more items than usual. (items that might be folded in a drawer. That makes for easy repacking.

Those B2B guests that wish to remain on the ship during changeover day are escorted off the ship, through customs, and back on the ship by one of the ship's officers.

How does it work when you buy liquor at the ships store? As I understand it, each person can bring into the US one bottle duty free after a cruise. So if the two of us buy two bottles on the first half of a B2B, can we buy an additional two bottles duty free on the second half of the B2B? Not concerned with drinking it on the ship, just getting it all home duty free. How does that work?

Yes, you can buy additional bottles on the second cruise. Royal does not keep track of how many bottles you are allowed with regard to US govt allowances. That's between you and the customs agents.

To add to this, our experience has been, when doing a b2b, that only 1 Customs Form is filled out and this form is handed in at the conclusion of the second cruise. Your purchase allowance is for both cruises and not per cruise.

I'll sail on next 26 December for three consecutive cruises. I'll be on Mariner ots from Singapore and I booked for all three legs the same cabin (interior category M).

 

Now my doubts are these:

1) between each cruise I'm forced to get off the ship and go through customs?

2) every time I have to bring my luggage or can I leave it in the cabin?

3) They will give me every time a new seapass or I keep always the first that I recived for all three cruises?

Hello Elena, I will try to answer your questions above using our own personal experience.

 

1. It depends on the port whether consecutive cruisers have to disembark or not and whether they go through Customs or not. You really aren't forced off, but meet as a group and then are escorted off the ship. :D The whole process can take less then 15 minutes, but again, it depends on the port and the people running the show.

 

2. Since you have the same cabin you can just leave your things where they are. I would let your cabin attendant know that you will be occupying the same cabin for 3 cruises. The best part is that you will have access to your cabin at any time during the morning and not have to wait until cabins are ready at 1PM.

 

3. Each cruise is handled separately because you have 3 different booking numbers. At the conclusion of the first cruise your account will be closed and a new one will be started. You will receive a new SeaPass card for each cruise. If you have OBC you can not carry it over from one cruise to the next.

 

You will get a letter in your cabin on what to expect on Turnaround day and all the instructions.

 

One suggestion that I would give you is that once on board, you can visit Guest Services and make sure that they are aware that you are doing 3 cruises altogether.

 

Enjoy your 3 cruises. I can tell you from experience, that you will be doing many more after this.

In reality for me it's not a problem to disembark at each leg, maybe I do a shore excursion and so I resolve this "problem".

 

For sure I follow your suggestion and I will inform my cabin attendant that I will be in the same cabin for three consecutive cruises.

 

Yes I have 3 different booking numbers. I'm happy that you confirm to me (and to know) that I'll receive 3 different seapass card because I like to collect cards of every cruise I've done but I've read on Italians forums that I would have received only one for the whole time of my trip. But probably in Europe have different rules and uses.

 

In my opinion... I prefer USA habit
