snow bunny Posted March 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Back in 2009 we were fortunate enough to have a fellow CC member sailing in the PH on the Connie. The room is beautiful and the deck is massive. There is plenty of seating in the sun or shade depending on your preference. Not sure if they did any changes to the deck but it did have a hot tub on the side section. The main area had a piano that you could programme to play on its own. There was a kitchen of a sort with a large fridge. The master bedroom is huge with a beautiful view of the deck and the washroom was stunning! You will make plenty of friends if you host a sail away! snow bunny Edited March 1, 2014 by snow bunny
TeaBag Posted March 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 1, 2014 The PH suites on the M class are amazing. We got to visit one on a cabin crawl. That's the only way we'll ever get into one. Enjoy your cruise and that huge balcony.

A stunningly beautiful, spotlessly clean, luxuriously comfortable, HUGE living area... A RIDICULOUSLY large deck with INCREDIBLE panoramic views... MIND BOGGLING service while you enjoy an INCREDIBLE cruise... But that's about all, so it's really nothing to get all that excited about... :D :p Have FUN!!! ;) Edited March 1, 2014 by teecee60
Phxazzcruisers Posted March 1, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 1, 2014 We have booked the Penthouse on the M Class ships, both Millenium and Summit. It is an incredible experience. It is LARGE and luxurious, it is a real treat. The Butler will do anything to make sure you are happy. We have always traveled with special friends and we have spent a LOT of time together in the room and on the balcony. We always had breakfast for all of us in the riding room and have had cocktails and candlelit dinners on the balcony, depending on the weather. You get 1/2 of the 6th floor of the back of the ship. The only problem that we ever had, was once you stay in the Penthouse, it is hard not to want to stay there again. Again, it is an awesome experience, enjoy !!! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
DiamondSuiteCruiser Posted March 1, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) We have never done a suite before let alone a Penthouse suite the videos look awesome can anyone tell us what to expect in the Penthouse suite ? I was thinking of starting a ball hockey game on the balcony it is so huge, but that may be going to far. We've never sailed on the Connie, but we had a PH suite on the Infinity and the Century. Both cruises I got a red rose before boarding, they took us to Michaels club were they called our butler to come escort us to our suite. There was flowers and champagne on ice in the suite. Both times we got invited to the Captains table for dinner on formal night. You will love both the suite and the huge balcony. One night we got back from an excursion late and missed dinner. Our butler Jose, served us dinner in our suite, we told him he could just bring what we ordered all at once and leave it, but he said he had to serve it one course at a time so it wouldn't get cold. You will get spoiled after this and will not want to sail in anything less than a suite for now on. The butlers pantry has a full size fridge with an ice maker, a separate wine fridge, a microwave, and a sink, lots of glasses for wine, champagne, highball, lowball... You will get two bottles of liquor one vodka one whiskey (you can ask the butler to swap it out for something else that you rather have) and mixers. Happy sailing and I know you will enjoy every min. fleckle Posted March 1, 2014 #10 Share Posted March 1, 2014 Most important of all, you should expect to invite all the poor souls from Cruise Critic who do not have a PH Suite to join you on that wonderful big penthouse balcony. ;)
grandpaiscruising Posted March 1, 2014 #11 Share Posted March 1, 2014 A few years ago I got a free upgrade to a penthouse suite on Princess, but it was not as big as what you got. My next 3 cruises are in a sky suite on the Connie next year, you are giving me hope. Our question was was it free or did you pay? Please let us peons know. Thank you. Project_gal Posted March 2, 2014 #12 Share Posted March 2, 2014 Oh dear! You do realise that it will now be impossible to cruise in anything but a Celebrity PH, don't you? After splashing out for the PH on Eclipse for our 40th wedding anniversary, we just HAD to upgrade to a PH on Connie for our next cruise - TA B2B with 5-day Caribbean. Both experiences were incredible and we find it so hard to decide which we prefer - the S-class PH or the M-class PH. What did we love most about Connie: the balcony and the butler's pantry. The balcony is enormous and, before our last cruise, we always thought far too big with two. It's not. Despite being huge, it is a very usable space and virtually always has both sun and shade [provided the sun is shining] and shelter from most rain [we had a lot of rain on our cruise]. The only disappointment is that they removed the bar in the last dry-dock. We would have made use of that. However, there are still 3 pairs of loungers - 3 different types - and a table seating 6. The butler's pantry is fabulous. I loved being able to get filtered water all the time. [i do not drink tea or coffee and have filtered water all the time at home but do not like the taste of ship's tap water so it was pure luxury not to have to make sure that I had a bottle at all times.] My husband was pleased to have both a kettle and microwave so that he could make and reheat his tea as at home. [Yes, I know, for most tea drinkers that sounds disusting but it is what he does!] We have been in Celebrity and Royal Suites on a number of occasions prior to the PH on Eclipse. You are always treated very well on a Celebrity ship but there is something extra in those suites. Until you have tried it, it is difficult to understand that there could be something better but, somehow, Celebrity manage it when you are in a PH without it seeming over-the-top in any way. You do not say when you will be on Connie and which side you are on but, last December, both PH butlers were excellent. If you have not had a butler before on a cruise, just relax, explain what you like/want and they will ensure that you have a great cruise. [ignore all the "please list everything you have asked a butler to do" threads. No one wants or needs everything listed and you are not failing to "get your money's worth" by not asking for everything.] E.G. If you want early morning tea/coffee, your butler will bring the type you want. Normally he will ring first to let you know he is on his way. If, like my husband, you just want to know that it is there when he wants it, you can request no call first. Your butler is happy to serve you a full breakfast, lunch and/or dinner in your suite but if you just want to nip up to the buffet, collect a few things and eat on your balcony, that's fine too but you may have to play the game of "dodge the butler" [either one!] or you will find that they insist on carrying your plate for you and set the table with a cloth! Have a great cruise! You will find your PH has one of the most comfortable beds you have ever known. For us, only beaten by the bed in the S-class PH.
