Everything.. ESCAPE (live 29 Oct 2015!)

Recommended Posts

Just got off the one nighter and found it to be similar to the breakaway but a few more added extras.we stayed in a mini suite with access to the spa.The only difference I would say is the bathrooms bigger in the room.i would only upgrade if I knew I would be spending time in the spa.The rooms not worth upgrading for in my opinion.I do like NCL though and would sail on it from Miami around the Caribbean. We were room 15174.You could hear the sun loungers moving about this morning so be aware of booking that floor(room) also we had a coffee maker but no coffee only tea and coffee creamer!!!and one cup so probably have to ask for another cup and coffee unless it's only tea.Anything anyone wants to know feel free to ask! Enjoyed margaritaville and 5 o'clock somewhere bar.The new district brew house was nice we enjoyed that.Think the bake shop was set up for uk customers as it didn't have all the merchandise and cakes it has when sailing from the USA.think the stock will change when it leaves Miami.Wanted a margaritiville mug but no merchandise either for that only the plastic upgrade $6 cup when purchasing a drink

We have this cabin booked for February, well 4 cabins down, my question for you is how early do you hear the noise from the loungers? I have been worried about this for months, but we actually get up pretty early.

That probably won't be known until there is warmer weather.

So many things wrong here.

First, high rollers are more privileged in the sense that their play is more highly valued by the casino and, by extension, the cruise line. They receive free cruises and many perks to entice them to sit and play while onboard.

Second, regulations have nothing to do with it. None of the IMO conventions, let alone the Bahamian enforcement, ban onboard smoking outright. Fire? Other than ensuring the new enclosure doesn't cross any fire zone boundaries and has adequate fire prevention coverage, there's not much to address.

Third, high rollers are not regular joes, and there are many examples from the past of high rollers who will leave if they can't be comfortably accommodated. A single high roller can represent millions of dollars to a cruise line. The fact that casinos will bend over backwards to please them should give you some indication of just how particular and demanding they can be. There are many who just won't come if they can't smoke because there are other lines that do allow it and are just as desperate to get their play.

"High Rollers" are not more privileged that others, they just think they are and for every "high roller" smoker you can name I can name 10 that don't smoke.

I wonder how these "high-roller" smokers would like it if the non-smokers released pungent flatulence right under their noses? My guess is these "special" and "privileged" "high rollers" would smell it just like any "regular Joe".

This is my first cruise on a NCL ship and we are saying in the Haven, so some might consider me a "high roller". Additionally, my wife and I both like to "high roll" at casinos from time to time but if the Escape's casino is so filled with filthy smoke then it will be my last cruise on NCL. We will go back to Celebrity where the casinos are smoke free and crowded.

Agreed!

Except I don't agree with the part about thinking they are more privileged! Just more don't smoke:-)

The anti cigarette people make me smile lol. I wish the US government would just outlaw smoking, they put so many regulations on it they might as well. It is the most highly regulated thing that is still legal in the United States lol.

As I have seen motleyfan, disrespect the whole "non smoking" comments throughout the last week, he should take into consideration that some people suffer from breathing issues like myself. It's good to see that there are designated smoking areas, so myself will avoid these areas. Don't disrespect non smokers!

Disrespect? I'm just stating my opinion, since when did somebody's opinion become offensive? The country is too politically correct lol. Anytime somebody has an opinion is contrary to someone else's it is labeled offensive it would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

You're not a high roller for saying in the Haven. The perks at the top of NCL's Casinos at Sea program easily exceed the perks one would receive for staying in a suite, although these same folks will usually get comped Haven suites anyway.

Celebrity's Blue Chip casino program doesn't even come close. They'd kill to have the kind of high rollers NCL has.

To be clear, when I say "privileged," I mean it in the sense that they are quantitatively more valuable to a cruise line. A good player can easily lose many times the cost of the most expensive suites onboard, and to that end they are extended a wide range of perks to keep them coming back for more.

Just following the Escape and thought she would be berthed ready to leave at 1300 hrs. Eastern time ? 1700 Southhampton local. I see she appears to be out in the channel doing some maneuvers. Why is that ? Am I reading this wrong ? Thanks Gerry

We've been out in the channel for the preview one nighter. Just got back into Southampton.

At what terminal? MarineTraffic is showing you at Ocean Terminal, but it was previously listed that we were leaving today from City Terminal. Hmmmm

Hi, I'm in a hotel in Hythe marinia across the Solent from Southampton Docks, and I have seen the Escape coming in to dock every morning at 7am (on the 27th, 28th and this morning 29th).

Today we embark for the TA voyage!!

Two things I want to say - I love most of this thread and the pictures and I am a smoker, I wish this would not have turned into a smoker vs non-smoker thread. (there are plenty of those on cc) I am a courteous smoker and never smoke in the casino or around others and I like the idea of a separate casino.

Looking forward to more info and pictures of Escape and a big thank you to all contributing!!

Yes, that was more than two things:D

Happy sailing to all of you lucky people!!!
