Everything.. ESCAPE (live 29 Oct 2015!)

Recommended Posts

Yep, sleeps 4. When you walk in: bathroom right, left a "garage" cave like place for the sofa bed and lots of space, forward the single porthole, a table with two comfy chairs in the middle, bed to the left, wardrobe left of the porthole under the slope. If it makes any sense. Spacious room and would def. pick this one over sideways OV.

Freestyle, you are the bomb!!!

My brother is coming with me on the Escape in December and he smokes. Does anyone have information on which areas are designated for smokers?

Thanks!

Michelle

Waterfront outside 5 o'clock bar, starboard aft in H20 and up by the waves bar. That's all my OH found who is a dedicated smoker!!!

This is what I'm looking for too :) I've only found pics of the handicapped H5

That is all I saw too and I know that room is much larger than a regular PH.

Guess I will keep watching and waiting:)

You will be sailing a year before me so if pictures have not been posted by then maybe you can share

Absolutely! We'll be staying in 17114. It was the last one left when I booked!

We are directly across ship from you in 17714. We have never sailed in the Haven, always forward PH suites. On our last cruise, the Epic we were in a fwd 2 bedroom. When we would go to the Haven pool I liked how those cabins were so close to everything so we thought we would give them a try.

It´s allowed on the ropes course and the Aqua Racer but not on the Free Fall. On the ropes course you need to have your hands free. Therefore my DH had "fixed" it to his chest. BTW it was no GoPro but a regular photo camera which is water proof and can take videos too.

Thank you steamboats...

Video from the sail away party out of Hamburg:

I feel bad for the crew members having to go out and dance to get people engaged, and basically noone cares. Perhaps people are more of a party mood going out of Miami instead of Hamburg, I know I would be :-)

Miami will be the opposite. Too many people dancing :)

We have never sailed in the Haven at all! We were in an AFT suite on NCL Dawn and a regular (large) balcony on Epic. We have often cruised on the Aft on other lines. I was so surprised that DH told me to book it and I had to do it fast since it was the last one available and are now sold out. We just booked 2 weeks ago. Now I'll be doing as much research as possible to make the most of our trip :-)

Wow, so much for forward thinking...So NCL is going to remodeling a brand new boat? LOL, they "missed the boat on that one" I guess. By no means is this going to be easy unless the exhaust infrastructure is already in place. However they do say "retrofitted"...

From a logistical and planning aspect, they are way out of sequence. This will be an expensive revision to a ship that is complete and operational.

Let's just hope it works...and there are no "unforeseen circumstances" that are mentioned in the article!

Not really. Just frame the area out with non structural walls and vent with a fan to exterior via filter. Yes it should have been done earlier but a good crew could get it done in a day or two.

It will be VERY interesting to see if that sticks when she starts to sail out of Miami!
From a Sticky posted by Laura (only a part of the press release that was posted):

Norwegian Cruise Line is planning on building a separate smoking room within the casino on its newest ship, Norwegian Escape.

The new area will contain a number of slot machines and games and will be fully ventilated. It will be retrofitted on the ship in November.

Smoking is banned in the casino until the ship's first cruise in the Caribbean on November 15. This includes the ship's forthcoming transatlantic crossing and inaugural celebrations on November 9 in Miami.

This, IMHO, is a win win for both smokers and non-smokers.

So....will the "retrofitting" be done prior to the inaugural cruise Nov 14th? I saw the date of the 15th someplace which seems very strange. Hopefully that cruise won't have a smoke problem in the atrium.
