PM arrival

I'm booked on the Silhouette for Dec,6,2015, and we arrive in San Juan at 3PM. According to the brochure, there are no excursions after 2:30.Are they serious? What the heck are we supposed to do between 3PM and 9 when we have to be back on board.Thinking seriously about cancelling, since we are losing one port even though Celebrity doesn't think so.

There is PLENTY here to be done by yourself...visit the fort and cemetary, within walking distance of the ship, walk around the lovely town, visit "The Butterfly" shop. No need for tours here.

Hi, it is all about priorities (in my opinion). I agree with the previous

poster and you can definitely walk around Old San Juan on your own.

BUT....this is the priority part, BUT....if it is very important for you to

have a full day in San Juan? Then the option you mentioned might

be the best thing for you. Only you can decide how important that

port day is.......

Personally, it would not matter to me as I have been to San Juan

many times over the years and I would probably just chill out on the

ship.

Sorry guys, but both the fort and Bacardi' s are not options as they close early. The stores aren't open very late either. Options left are restaurants, bars, and casinos. San Juan is no great shakes anyway IMHO but as an afternoon/evening stop it is pretty lame. I would (and have) walk around a bit then enjoy the ship.

We've been to San Juan twice in that time frame and found plenty to do.

Our first trip, there were mini tour buses right outside when we came off the ship and we took a tour of a fort and the cemetary and also made a shopping stop at one of high end shopping districts. Came back to the port area, but it started raining pretty hard, so we just walked around a bit and headed back to the ship.

Our second trip we explored the fort that is within walking distance of the ship. Then there was a street fair going on and we had fresh made empanadas right off a food cart (they were delicious!) We walked in and out of the cute little shops picking up some gifts. We then ended our stay with a stop at Senor Frogs for a few magaritas and to watch the NFC playoffs cheering Brett Favre on while he beat the Cowboys (when Brett was with the Vikings...did I mention I'm a huge Giants fan??)

To cancel a cruise because of one port seems silly to me. There are ports I don't like, but it would never stop me from cruising....there's always something to do!

The ship will be docking at the PanAmerican pier which is away from Old San Juan. You would need to take a cab into town. The pier in Old San Juan is used by Celebrity for port stops not embarkation.

The ship will not be docking at the Pan American pier. The OP is on the Silhouette which stops in San Juan for a port stop.

Good morning, the ship will not be docking at the Pan American Pier.

Silhouette sails from Ft. Lauderdale and San Juan is 1 port day so she

will be docking in Old San Juan. I did this same itinerary last year

and we definitely docked in OSJ.
