What would you want Carnival to do to accomodate

Since Carnival is now denying smoking on your balcony, what would you like them to do to accommodate you as a smoker. Non smokers-please I love you, but unless you are traveling with one, (a smoker) stay our of this.

I would like Carnival to provide a larger outside smoking area, that is as quiet as the Serenity area. An outdoor smokers lounge. Because when all those smokers get together we are really going to tick off all the non smokers...

What would accommodate you, since your balcony wont help anymore?

FREE cigs while you're on your cruise. :D

Thank you for this post. It is so refreshing to not have arguments going back and forth on the dangers of smoking that I assure them we are all aware of.

I was even thinking making certain decks smoking would work.

I bet the cigar bars would be hopping now (if they still had them).

I guess they could put us under the funnel, with decent ashtrays, but if ashes blew then there would be "un serene" comments.

So where can you smoke on the Lido on ships where they have the 2.0 upgrades?

Deck 10 port side. They had a couple of chairs and small tables and ashtrays. Not very inviting - and could be extremely windy. That said, I met some great people there, and of course, you can't beat the view!

I use an e cig and on the open decks followed carnival's rules. I noticed on my last cruise on the Dream, the outdoor smoking sections are much more 'civilized' and not just the hot open decks with poor smokers croweded around a single ash tray.

There was a nice shaded area with tables and chairs midship on the promande deck. Also at the main pool/outdoor screen, the upper area on starboard side was smoking. So you could actually eat at a table, in the shade and still watch a movie too.

Course to H*** with their rules re using an e cig in the room! Mine has no odor and OF COURSE i'll use it in my room. I also used i in the nonsmoking section of the casino discreetly and not a word said.

So I'll look to book Dream Class ships. Besides the smoking issues, thought the outdoor spaces were much nicer.

I would like them to consider ecigs and vaporizers different than regular cigarettes. AND add a cigar bar on each ship... OR if no bar, than take one the decks that are rarely used, usually on deck 5 or so, and turn one side of it at the end into an outdoor cigar lounge, comfy chairs, etc

I'm not a smoker, but sometimes cruise with one, This is a great idea! There are always open decks that have nothing going on, it would make a perfect location. adding some comfy loungers, bar service, sounds like a good compromise. Along with a cigar bar!

I'd be happy if Carnival put back the smoking section back on the Lido. They were taken away on the ships when Guy's and the Cantinas were introduced with 2.0. There's plenty of space, the area is covered and comfortable. $0 to implement.

I liked the smoking section on Epic around the pool area too.

When did they take it away? Wasn't it just moved?

Conquest ships with the 2.0 upgrades lost the smoking section on the Lido. Moved it up to deck 10, in the wind, etc. There was a big ruckus on here when the Liberty received the upgrades, and CCL removed the smoking section after people on the ship complained (too close to Guy's and the Blue Iguana, I suppose).

On Splendor there is COOL...a cigar bar/smoking lounge. It. was rarely crowded and I do believe that it was because no one really knew it was there.

Deck 5..across from the Piano Bar.

Thanks for the info. We are sailing on the Splendor in 25 days (yippee) with three cigar smokers. Now I know where to find them. I was afraid they would spend an entire week on balconies, but they really prefer the social aspect of cigar bars.

It was moved to a great spot. Up the stairs right by the pool and not invading anyone's air space.

As I recall prior to 2.0, 1 side of the Lido was smoking, the other half, clear across the deck, was non-smoking...

Would love a dedicated cigar bar or lounge on every ship. Even ships that allow cigar smoking in the Lounge, such as Starry Nights, you get the looks from chain cigarette smokers. I like to go on one of the upper decks, and have a drink while relaxing with a cigar, when its not to windy.

I agree with the person that posted about the casino. As a smoker, I am always there. The problem is that they will have 3 rows non-smoking, then a row of smoking, then back to non-smoking. Smoke was all over the place. They really need to segregate the areas.

What about the library? It's already enclosed- has a bar and is (actually) little used

That would destroy the books and make them unreadable for non-smokers.Just because people do not sit in the library does not mean the library is not used.

Please note: My comments are based on what I, a smoker, have experienced on the Liberty. The issues I experienced may be different on another ship.

Having a designated outdoor smoking area is fine, but there are some issues that need to be addressed. Making people go to the windiest part of the ship, with nothing blocking the wind, and a couple of ashtrays, is not the best idea. On the Liberty, as some of you may know, the designated outdoor smoking area is along the starboard side of deck 10, as well as the rear of deck 10. I would imagine that ashes, and the occasional cigerette butt, have been blown onto the Aft balconies. If Carnival wants us to go to an outdoor area for smoking, it needs to have some type of partitions that will block the wind, tables and chairs so that people can sit down, and a large wind proof ashtray at each table. It would also be nice if there was a self-serve coffee maker nearby, and maybe a bar where you could get a cold adult beverage. Is that too much to ask for?

I agree with you. Not sure why a portion of the Lido, far enough from Guy's and the Blue Iguana isn't an option. Wouldn't cost a dime. As I've mentioned in another thread, the Epic smoking area is adjacent to the pool, complete with cover, an ocean view, tables, chairs, and bar service.

DH smokes, I vape.

I would like an open outdoor area with an ocean view and comfortable seating to relax on as well as tables and chairs to bring food to or set drinks on while chatting. It needs to be a place we can spend a few hours, not just the 10 min it takes to suck one down. Running back and forth from one area to another is not my idea of relaxing on vacation.

The serenity areas (like on Freedom) would be perfect. :D

This is exactly what my earlier post talked about. You want to sail on the Dream Class ships - Dream, Magic and Breeze. Areas like you discribe are set up on deck 5 midship and above the lido deck at the main pool. Sheltered, shaded (if you want or not on 5). Tables, chairs and bar service. Would could be better!

If you had a choice of being able to smoke cigarettes in the small defined areas of the ship OR be able to vipe in all shared outdoor areas and indoor casino only, which would you choose ?

Remember, this is only for one week, on average

VAPE, and, I believe DH would vape only for a week, also, just to have the freedom of it. As long as the weather is not raining all week, that is
