Rare Copper10-8 Posted August 7, 2014 #126 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Will I get it back the night before we leave or will Security eat it? Thank you Kazu for starting this fun thread. Security doesn't eat, period, so you can get your pie back at the end of your cruise and eat it too
jaspersmycat Posted August 7, 2014 #127 Share Posted August 7, 2014 I called my PCC to have the apple pie added to my reservation and he told me I had to rebook at a higher price. Since I felt the additional cost was not worth it I kept my current booking. He also told me this Apple Pie offer is for a limited time and only selected cruises. summer slope Posted August 7, 2014 #128 Share Posted August 7, 2014 I am on Weight Watchers and will not have enough points for any pie. Can I bring my Scentsy apple pie electric candle warmer and an extension cord instead? Thanks for your help. ps does anyone know if the bread pudding in the Lido is dietetic?? OMGoodness...I was thinking the same thing. LOL Thank you so much for this thread. Haven't laughed so much by myself in a long time. I love CC!! CJcruzer Posted August 7, 2014 #129 Share Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) I bet some pax would think that sounds DELICIOUS, but to me it holds no ap-PEEL ;) LOL - but maybe GRANNY SMITH would enjoy the pampering! :D Carol Edited August 7, 2014 by CJcruzer
johnmik1 Posted August 7, 2014 #130 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Can I take my pie to the dining room to eat and if so do I have to pay a fork charge Sent from my iPhone using Forums I think they call it a forkage fee!
CruiseGal60 Posted August 7, 2014 #131 Share Posted August 7, 2014 LOL, I can actually see it happening. Will the pie be sugar free? How can I be sure? Can I watch the chef make it?
idiebabe Posted August 7, 2014 #132 Share Posted August 7, 2014 I just got off the Westerdam and my entire cruise was ruined! I received a Peach Pie instead of the Apple Pie I was so looking forward to (and was promised by my PCC). I don't like Peach Pie, I really don't like Peach Pie! Also, they delivered the Pie at a very inconvenient time for me to enjoy it. I definitely think I'm entitled to a free cruise as my whole cruise experience was completely ruined by this and if I don't get it, we will never sail HAL again! (Thanks, Kazu, for this thread! Too funny! :))

ksqueak Posted August 7, 2014 #134 Share Posted August 7, 2014 i can't believe people are making such a big deal over these pies. We come from new england where the apples are far more superior to anything you get on a hal ship. We find them meely and have no flavor it has been years since we have even had a hal apple pie. Also anyone who does not believe that apple pie is an allergen, i have posted a link to a study done at the university of vienna in 1967 by the esteemed professor jonathan macintosh which proves apples contain heavy doses of methylethylohell that when mixed with cinnamon and baked at high temperatures produces the chemical grannygala that has been recognized by the cdc as a known allergen rolf! Relax@Sea Posted August 7, 2014 #135 Share Posted August 7, 2014 I DEMAND to know your source for that inflammatory information. I absolutely cannot cruise without eating pie on the balcony.... CowPrincess Posted August 7, 2014 #136 Share Posted August 7, 2014 You all GOT pie. I'm in an inside on deck 3 and we only got crust. LOL I love this thread. That's what happens when you book Guarantee. You should have been prepared to accept the worst possible cabin. Just a few minutes' reading on CC would have told you that. Booking a guarantee and then hoping for an upgrade to the cabin you REALLY want is always a bad idea. ;)
sapper1 Posted August 7, 2014 #137 Share Posted August 7, 2014 How would it work for the third and fourth persons who sail free in a cabin? Would they get a pie too? If not, it would be unfair for those who paid full fare to have to share their pie. They couldn't very well just eat it in front of the non paying passengers. This whole pie business may backfire and make a lot of people unhappy. Doesn't anybody think these things through?

elycelynne Posted August 7, 2014 #139 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Because I'm in a suite and thus get two scoops of ice cream and the rest of my family are in 27 inside cabins why can't they get the 2nd scoop too? I think it is unfair. Sorry, they'll have to purchase the "pie amenities" package if they want a 2nd scoop.
OVgirl Posted August 7, 2014 #140 Share Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) I think someone from CC should copy this thread and send it to the Office of the President. I'm sure they would like to know what the members here feel about the new program. Then maybe we would see some of the changes that are being discussed on future cruises. I don't know about that - you'll just get their standard "apple pie" letter. And they may send out an order to "apple pie" your beds!

gatorbill62 Posted August 7, 2014 #143 Share Posted August 7, 2014 I can guarantee you that pie will not make it by Security; it will show up in their metal detector! What if we don't use a metal pie pan, maybe smugle it inside of a fake banjo in our back pack:cool:

CJcruzer Posted August 7, 2014 #146 Share Posted August 7, 2014 I believe I may have a coupon from HAL booklet, entitling me to a "complimentary" "deluxe" slice of apple pie, with rich toppings, WITH the purchase of a 7-day Admiral wine package..... (or maybe it was the with the purchase of a HAL monogrammed bathrobe:rolleyes: ) Carol

Now all Apple, Blueberry, Chocolate, Lemon Mer., Coconut Custard pie-Lovers, voted to have you take it to him in person! But, be sure to sneak by Copper & his gang., since security personnel are not fed & they might try to steal the pies.. Once, the Office of the Pres. gets the thread, please ask if they will rethink the cost & give us a bigger break on the core-cage fee..!;) Please also ask the Office of the Pres. another question... If I purchase an Apple IPad will HAL give us the Explore 4 Apple Amenities package free? P.S. Didn't get any pie at our condo ladies luncheon today :(
