OBC's~ TA & Visa Points

I have two obc's...one from my t.a of 100 and 100 from my visa points. She (royal visa rep) said if I don't use it, the balance would be credited back to my card. My question is that I'm not sure if it makes a difference if that first 100 comes from my the ta or my visa points. If the obc is returned from the ta if not used, then it won't make a difference if I don't use it all up. But if the ta says, use it or lose it, then I was wondering how they determine where it came from.

I KNOW some of it will be used and I can certainly use it all up. But if I don't HAVE to, then I won't.

This make sense? I get my visa obc back if I don't use...just not sure of the rules if an obc comes from a ta. I've always used mine up and not an issue.

Thanks!

Laura, this is really a moot point. If the OBC comes from a TA (and not from RCI) it is refundable as well. the only OBC that is usually not refundable is that which comes from RCI directly because of their deals.

I know that the VISA OBC is refundable but I have never had any from a TA so can not speak to that.

That being said, you can always cash out any OBC at the casino for a 5% fee if you have any doubts about it. Better safe than sorry sometimes.

What is leftover OBC?

It is the money that I have left that they will refund to me so that I can turn around and use it for money off from my NEXT cruise that they will NOT let me use my points for because I have a BOGOHO reservation:eek:

If anyone can follow that:)

Are you saying:

Your cruise fare is from the BOGOHO sale.

You tried to apply RC Visa points for OBC and they refused????

No, what I was trying to say (and was not very successful at;)) is that since RCL will only let you use your Visa points for OBC on any BOGHO reservations you can use the points for more OBC than you know you will use. Then when you get refunded back the unused portion you can then use that for money off of another cruise.

PS Sorry to give you a headache Bob
