Is this a former Royal Caribbean ship?

Was just browsing around and saw this article about a hotel on the cliff in South Korea. When I saw the pictures, it reminded me of one of Royal Caribbeans older ships. What stood out was on top there is something that looks like the Viking Crown and also the back looks very similar to the Monarch and Sovereign.

It's called the Sun Cruise hotel. Thoughts?

No it isn't. As far as I know it was specifically built to resemble a cruise ship and isn't a former cruise ship.

Sure looks like a Viking Crown, but I don't remember a Royal ship that looks like that hotel.

It does look like they could have had it mind to build the hotel to vaguely represent the old RCI Sun Viking. There is a resemblance IMO - the VCR is a pretty telling RCI feature! :)

The South Korean company Hyundai did buy the Sun Viking for cruises in that area. I believe another South Korean then bought her for a overnight gambling ship. So this might be the final resting place?

It was built specifically built & designed to be in the image of a cruise ship, the hotel is 165 meters (541 ft.) long and 45 meters (148 ft.) tall . It opened in 2002 and has approximately 211 guest rooms.

As this poster suggested, it seems to look weird proportionally to have ever been an actual ship. Too short front to back and too tall top to bottom.

I like it. Wish there was one like that on the east coast. Gotta check on the price. Airfare would be ridiculous.:eek: .......second thought, I better stick to cruising.:p
