We are on the Reflection it’s our first transatlantic and won’t be our last…….We don’t mind being at sea and find it very relaxing.

Leaving Rome was a bit overcast though a pleasant 25 degrees. So far we have had reasonably clear and sunny skies with temperatures around 24 every day. No rain yet during the day………….

This is our 4th day on board and tomorrow at 7am we reach Madeira.

Good crowd on the ship some older, some middle aged not many young, although they tell me the new age for middle age is around 47 and therefore plenty of middle aged including our good selves who are just around the 53 age group.

During the morning the music seems to be switched off at the pool area which I find pretty good to just kick back and relax.

We were on this ship in June and I didn’t write very favourably about the food in the MDR however this time it has been excellent!!

Shows so far, a pianist, songs from the musicals, a xylophone player and tonight a juggler come stand-up comedian

.

House band is Sol Providor, there is a contemporary duo called 5 O’Clock Somewhere, Rhythm Kings a DJ Duo, Blue Note Jazz Quartet and a very good solo guitarist/singer called Brandi Paige who we are very impressed with. She sings some really nice stuff Big Yellow Taxi, Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here – you get the picture relax in the Ensemble or Sunset Bar with a glass of wine and just listen………

I notice plenty of people walking around with future cruise leaflets and perhaps many are taking advantage of the 123 Go + the OBC you can get for the use on this cruise.

After Madeira we cruise on to the Caribbean and finish in Miami.

Great LIVE Report !!

Thanks for sharing

Hope we will hear more from you as you progress across the Atlantic

(hopefully you'll have good weather, and a smoother ride than the folks on The Infinity have experienced thus far out on open water ahead of you)

Just left Madeira. Weather has been cloudy but a respectable 22 -24 degrees making it very pleasant to walk around. It started raining for about 15 minutes. Just a shower.

This was our first visit to Madeira and we really like the place. We said it’s probably one of our nicest places that we have stopped.

Didn’t have the usual trinket shops that some Islands have, you know the ones that sell the same old stuff. The main streets have some quality stores and there seemed to be a lot to keep you browsing. We would like to visit Madeira again and explore it more.

3 euros for two coffees while sitting outside in the main street, pretty cheap.

Last night we had a sea bass type dish in the MDR and it was excellent.

First time on a Celebrity cruise we have experienced two lines for reservations at the MDR. If you have made a reservation you get seated straight away. If you haven’t and we didn’t the first night, we had to wait around 20 minutes for a table for 2 people. Now we just make a reservation when we leave the dining room, check the menu in the afternoon and if we like it turn up. If we don’t like it, which hasn’t happened yet we will try out Tuscan Grille.

Casino is busy at the slots but not so busy at the tables. I like playing roulette but have been finding myself waiting for another player to come along and join in. Didn’t make it to the show last night.

This afternoon when we got back we decided to use our courtesy coupon for the Persian Garden which was ideal as there was only a few people there.

We recently made it to Elite and the benefits have been really good especially the free internet.

We’ve had 3 drink coupons each night for use in a variety of bars around the ship.

Now it’s onward to St Kitts.

Thanks for your updates! Keep them coming! Good friends of ours were on the Reflection transatlantic last fall and loved it! They seemed to have had cooler weather...granted, last fall the transatlantic was in November. One thing I saw in their photos was that they put out blankets for use on deck...have they had the blankets out, or still warm enough just to stick with beach towels?

Like others here, we'll be on Reflection on this 'side of the pond'...only 17 days to go for us! Can't wait!

Enjoy St. Kitts...we stopped there two years ago on a repositioning and loved it...can't wait to go back!

Woke up at 7am this morning by the sound of a helicopter hovering above us. We are at the aft and the chopper was directly above us conducting a rescue mission to transport a very ill guest to hospital. It seems during the night the captain turned the vessel around and headed back to Madeira to get to a position whereby the chopper could fly out to sea and meet the ship.

I’m sure all cruise critic members will wish the guest a speedy recovery…………

It does bring a lot of comfort knowing that guests well being is high on Celebrities agenda.

I like the Captain it’s the second time we have sailed with him, Captain Pepperas or something like that. He makes an announcement every day at 10 and normally informs us of interesting information which this morning was about the Atlantic Ocean.

Another excellent meal last night in MDR. We also went along to the show to watch a guy who was seemingly in the lead role of Les Mis somewhere in the US a few years ago who sang a few songs and cracked a few gags.

Tonight is some guy called Scotty something who is an illusionist come comedian.

Turkey with all the trimmings on the menu tonight so looking forward to that!

Cloudy today with the sun bursting through now and again with temperature I think around 22. No need for blankets at the pool…………Still no music or very faint music at the pool area.

Glad you are enjoying your cruise on Reflection!!!! and thanks for your review!

Is it possible you could ask at guest relations if a butler named "Nash" is onboard at this time or expected to return soon for the Carib itinerary? ( Correct name/ my bad spelling is "Nilash")

I know it's a huge favor, but IF he is onboard, I'm willing to do an expensive upgrade to have him as a butler again!

Thanks so much if you could find a minute to check?

Fingers crossed!

Was on Reflection Last month in the Med, Was our second time sailing her.

If you happen to pass by Michaels stick your head inside and say hi to Lenny for us! Tell him Barbie and Kevin say hi. He grew up in the Philadelphia area where we live.

I hope in the AM when the captain comes on he is hittimg the right switch for the speaker.Every mornng at 10 he would do his announcements and it came on in the cabin! That never happened before on X. After he was done the rest in other languages were not in the cabin.

Great ship, just the downside is the entertainment, the lounges are nice but no real shows.

Safe cruising!

We got off Reflection on 10/17 in Rome and wished we could have stayed on. Too bad that work comes in the way or we would have been on the TA with you. That was our second time on her and it won't be the last. I am sure we will sail the Caribbean over and over just to be on that wonderful ship. Enjoy your posts so keep them coming.

I'm interested to hear how the weather/seas are on 'the cruise that might have been'.

Why do this to yourself

The seas have 40 ft waves, 100 mph winds, it has been thundering and lightening the whole time they been at sea

The food been terrible , all the dinks are water down

The cabin stewards have not cleaning the cabins

and the entertainment has been awful

I feel much better now about not booking this cruise :D

Not much new to report. Seas have been pretty calm little rocky during the night but so far we can’t grumble about the weather since leaving Rome especially the last couple of days warm and sunny.

Have been out on pool deck every day.

Meals continue to be of high quality, one of these days we will try a speciality restaurant…..

Just been to an interesting Beyond The Podium talk in the Reflection Theatre by a lady who worked for years in the White House…..Very Interesting.

Roulette has been letting me down on this cruise but fortunately blackjack has brought me back up.

Onwards to St Kitts………………
