Rare cr8tiv1 Posted October 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2014 I just returned from a voyage on the Golden Princess. Last week, they started Princess@Sea. There are now a total of 6 ships with this capabilities. One a month until everyone is online. For FREE, you can: View your stateroom account Pull up a listing of the events around the ship (not a virtual Patter) Access Princess.com Direct link to the internet if you have a package plan. You still need to log out and type in "logout.com" to end your session And still there were mobs of people in line at the customer service counter (even with the account kiosks available at either end). This was a most interesting 3 day weekday voyage. Over a thousand blue cards and 100 Elite, a little noisier than I remember (maybe I am just a year older). Many more rude and pushy people than I recall. Definitely people were there to party or play in the casino. Weather was great. Chocolate journey happened. And I still have my opinions when it comes to Park West's Art Auction. They have been rebranded "Princess Fine Arts"....not!

2wheelin Posted October 31, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 31, 2014 Which six ships have it, please. Am I mistaken that this is the program that allows peer to peer phone access without charge?
lovevacadays Posted October 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 31, 2014 Thank you for posting. Nice development. Did you try the Chocolate Journey? I didn't realize it was rolling out to other ships. I thought just the Regal had it, so good to know.:D:D:D
Working 2 Cruise Posted October 31, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 31, 2014 Which six ships have it, please. Am I mistaken that this is the program that allows peer to peer phone access without charge? No. It's the Princess intranet, which allows you to view your account or the latter's.

Of course, since the Regal is a brand new ship, she'll have all the latest features...

I'd been advised by a friend who has travelled internationally on business, to keep a notepad and pen with me and write down EVERYTHING you spend to keep a running tally for your budget. Oh, and note the names of any staff that help you, so you can acknowledge them in the comments form, yes you always personally thank them, but let the Management know these people are good too! Pam in CA Posted October 31, 2014 #13 Share Posted October 31, 2014 I have received an email that says it will have the messagibg feature in my cruise in November on the Regal.Yes. The Messenger app is being debuted on the Regal Princess and will be rolled out to the other ships. It will allow you to message other passengers on the ship. It's not the same as Princess@Sea but works in conjunction with the Intranet Princess@Sea uses.

Princess Patches Posted October 31, 2014 #15 Share Posted October 31, 2014 Which six ships have it, please. Am I mistaken that this is the program that allows peer to peer phone access without charge? That is Princess@sea Messenger, which supposedly debuts on the Regal in November. It allows you to text message from your tablet or smartphone for free. No free phone calls. None of the ships have this yet that I know about. Hoping for the messenger on the Royal in March. I hate scheduling or running back to the cabin to leave notes.

You still need to log out and type in "logout.com" to end your session Excuse my ignorance here, but is the above now accessible from cabin TVs, as in a hotel, or only from personal electronic devices or the internet center? I am hoping they have added wireless keyboards to the cabins so we can use the TVs as terminals. I strongly dislike having to drag fragile and expensive electronics along when I travel, and the internet center is often busy. Princess Patches Posted October 31, 2014 #23 Share Posted October 31, 2014 (edited) I'm sorry but I don't understand. Can we send instant messages to each other now on the Golden? No, free text messaging (Princess@sea Messenger) debuts in November on the Regal. The other ships will get it throughout 2015. All ships should have it by the end of 2015. Currently, several ships including the Golden have Princess@sea, which allows access to your onboard account and the Patter from your tablet or smartphone, but not from the TV. All ships will get Princess@sea in the coming months and prior to getting Princess@sea Messenger. On the Crown, I noticed that while the Princess press release regarding Princess@sea stated you could browse the restaurant menus with their app, that feature was not available on the Crown this month. It had the Patter and your onboard account, but no menus. Edited October 31, 2014 by Princess Patches

When the text messaging service debuts on the Regal in November, you are supposed to be able to download the free Princess@sea Messenger app from either the Apple or the Android app stores prior to sailing. I am sure you can download it once onboard as well.
