dfish Posted January 25, 2015 #282 Share Posted January 25, 2015 Maybe this was a planned delay? Two years ago on the Veendam in Bar Harbor we arrived early and the captain announced that we would not depart until 6:30 pm instead of the scheduled 4:00 pm. That was really appreciated! Two years ago on the Veendam in Bar Harbor we arrived early and the captain announced that we would not depart until 6:30 pm instead of the scheduled 4:00 pm. That was really appreciated! 30 knot plus winds kept us pinned to the dock until the winds died down a bit. Our original required speed was about 13 knots to make Grand Cayman on time, so our delayed departure was not a problem (and Key West residents could not complain about the sunset as cloudy as it was. Roy Roy: I am glad you took time out from your relaxing cruise to explain the delay to us. I hope the strong winds calm down before you reach Grand Caymen Himself
