Favorit night bites

Recommended Posts

I like to stop in to the WJ and pick up a large plate of cutup fruit. I never find the platter ordered from room service to be enough -- it usually is pretty, but of less quantity than I want.

Café Promenade or Lattitudes (for ships w/o a Café Promenade) generally have enough food snacks....but the fresh cut up fruit I need to get from WJ.

On one of our Carnival cruises they had a midnight crepes buffet every night. Fresh made crepes with all the fruit, ice cream and nut fillings you can imagine. It was great. My favorite was chocolate ice cream, pistachios, chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Yummy!! I wish Royal would do something like that.:D

On Norwegian Epic they make fresh crepes starting 9pm at the buffet. There is line but it is worth the wait.

Our favorite : nuttela and strawberry jam. Hmmmmm...[emoji7]

Ham and cheese croissant at Cafe Promenade. And maybe a cookie or two.

We are of one mind, my friend. That's my exact late-night snack, almost every night. :)

I've found the options to be lacking...I've suggested many times to RCI to offer an area that has breakfast food for late nights. :p

Quantum has a 24-hour station in the windjammer that i heard has crepes sometimes. sometimes it's fajitas (that's what was there one night when i went to check it out at 1 a.m. - i was bummed as i was hoping for the crepes). also made-to-order pizzas, and burgers/fries/hot dogs. i do wish there had been more breakfast food on it, but oh well, i guess my timing was just bad...

I like the little pudding cups at the Promenade Cafe (tiramisu is yummy) and the pizza if any of it looks good. The little sandwiches and cookies are often good as well. It's really nice that they cafe is typically open really late and almost always has something (and coffee) available.

For those that believe they should have a station of the WJ open, from lets say 10pm to 2am, for breakfast food -- send an email to rcldining@rccl.com.

Maybe you can get a NEW tradition started at Royal ships -- if even cruisers tell them it would be a good idea.

I've suggested this to RCI in several formats many times...wish other's would do the same....maybe they'll finally listen.

This is a symptom of pre-diabetes. Better get checked out by a doctor.

There must be a lot of pre diabetics onboard then because I sure see MANY people eating after dinner time :D

My A1C is great. Glucose level great. Just had them checked again for my Wellness visit for health insurance in fact. Still doesnt mean you wont see munching on a piece of pizza or something later on in the night. ;)

I'm assuming this is a joke? Kind of tongue-in-cheek?

It's normal for people whose pancreas is still functioning normally to be hungry several hours after a meal. This is especially true if the meal had a a high amount of carbs/sugars. When you inject all sorts of carbs (eat a meal), your pancreas releases insulin to control your blood sugars. But, since the blood sugars are what your body craves/needs, a few hours later, sugars drop, and your body's reaction is "FEED ME".

If you don't want those hunger pains. Don't eat carbs - keep the sugars low.

So... when my blood sugars drop, and I feel hungry late at night... a trip past the Promenade Cafe for some cookies does the trick :)
