Deployment Schedule 2016-2017. Let the guessing begin

Sorry if I'm missing something, but I thought it was just the four ships (Voyager/Explorer/Radiance/Legend) sailing in the Australia region for the regular Aussie summer, plus Ovation making a few visits as part of a shortened AU season. Adventure is no where to be seen in the Australian heading of the 2016-2017 deployment document.

I've cropped the relevant parts and turn it into an image (click to make bigger):

Someone else had listed Adventure and without thinking I included her too. She is confirmed for San Juan for winter 2016/17. Sorry for any confusion.

No worries :)

Fingers crossed there are some more Aussie itineraries with overnight stops - they are great! The Explorer transpacific crossing for 2016 with the Hawaii and Fiji overnight stops is tempting ... but only one cruise per year max for this cruiser :)

With Azamara having overnights as it's unique selling point and with Celebrity re-deploying many sailings last week to include overnight Caribbean call additions, the time may be coming for more RCI overnight calls in the near future.

The itineraries I have seen for Australia do not seem to include them for this season unless they appear with Ovation.

Hey Cruisegroover,

Thanks for sharing. Did they provide any specific information about the itineraries? Are there any new ports, for example in Tonga or Fiji? Anything new that might be of interest?

Cheers

Thanks for the heads up. This sounds like an interesting itinerary. I've placed a courtesy hold on the cruise - cruise prices seem very reasonable. Airfare, for us anyway, will be another story.

It looks like they have decided against the shorter sailings from Barcelona in May 2016 and are now adding a sailing from London as the current first sailing for Harmony.

The Vigo and Malaga stops had been mentioned in Spanish press in March.

Harmony Of The Seas Depart: 06:00 PM 05/29/2016 London, Southampton, England

Harmony Of The Seas 05/30/2016 At Sea

Harmony Of The Seas 05/31/2016 At Sea

Harmony Of The Seas 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM 06/01/2016 Vigo, Spain

Harmony Of The Seas 06/02/2016 At Sea

Harmony Of The Seas 08:00 AM - 06:00 PM 06/03/2016 Malaga, Granada, Spain

Thanks for that. Pretty much the only other cruises that go to those ports are Paul Gauguin ones, and they are way to expensive for me.

With the current BOGHO offer in both the US and OZ there are some pretty good prices for a short time.

We managed to switch an Allure booking made on Radiance early this year under the new onboard T&Cs to this sailing, so are really pleased!:D

Date of cruise is 3rd Dec 2016 for 13 nights. HTH.

The sailing is not open for sale yet.

It was mentioned at a Cruise Line International Association event in the UK over the weekend. It will be partially open for public bookings, but will also host a trade event in Europe.

The ship appears to get into Barcelona on the 5th and does not do a first public sailing until the 7th when there will be a 5 night sailing.

The first full Barcelona sailing will remain the one open on the 12th June, 2016.

How come there is no Hawaii April 2017 cruise?

While it would seem there will be a May 5, 2017 Honolulu to Vancouver sailing on Radiance, they have not released the sailing. They could do so at any time or with Ovation or even in the worst case leave it for the next deployment season.

They have not released the Explorer April 22, 2017, 23 night Sydney to Seattle sailing either.

We are waiting for Explorer TransPacific from Sydney - Vancouver, BC which does include a few ports in Hawaii

We just booked Explorer 9 Apr 2017 13 days Sydney - Fiji and other islands and want the next for B2B

Was booked on the 12th June sailing, received an email from RCCL UK tonight stating that Inaugural sailing now 29th May 2016 from Southampton and giving us three choices:

1. Rebook on 29th May

2. Rebook on another cruise / ship

3. Get full refund of any monies paid

That is interesting as they should still hold the 12th of June sailing, but seem to want to give those that thought this would be the first sailing a first option on cabins for what is now the first scheduled Harmony sailing.

If Explorer follows next years pattern, she will not be going to Hawaii or Vancouver.

She will be repositioning to Singapore.

I am also looking for that itinerary. :)

Radiance would be the only ship doing Hawaii.

While not official until RCI release the sailing for public sale, the preliminary sailing booked for Explorer in 2017 is for a second year of Seattle deployment.

Explorer in 2016 has been re-deployed from original Singapore deployment to Seattle deployment for Alaska sailings. These are full Transpacific sailings and do not allow segments from Hawaii to Seattle.

Can anyone confirm the next scheduled dry dock for Radiance? Is it May 2016 in Victoria B.C? Thanks in advance. [emoji3]

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I have not seen the May 2016 two week gap officially announced as a dry dock yet. As Radiance was one of the first ships to be revitalized in May/June of 2011, she would be due for some of the necessary certifications to be renewed at that time though.

This list might only show 'enhancements' and the Radiance dry dock might be just a refresh and mechanical dry dock.

Thanks MADflyer. That sounds right; mandatory certifications, no major enhancements.

Relatives of mine were on board recently and there were a few problems, mostly electrical. They would also use these two weeks to carry out any repairs that can't be done at sea or within a turnaround day.

There is a web site that is just packed with information that does show that Explorer is indeed going this route: (of course they can always change it - this is what I gleaned fro the site - 2 combined sailings 9 April and 22 April for a totl of 36 days!

Just gotta know where to look
