Troban Posted May 5, 2015 #78 Share Posted May 5, 2015 Thank you for checking. It makes me sound snooty which I most definitely am not, I have so many foods I can't eat for health reasons that I indulge myself in my tea. I am sure enjoying reading your posts, seeing your pics. It has truly helped me get excited about our upcoming cruise. Thank you again. Enjoy Checked today...at Coffee Connections and at the 4pm Tea... White sugar, raw sugar, Splenda and Stevia (?).. all packets, no cubes. But I am sure you can ask if they have more exotic choices. ;)

NCCruzQueen Posted May 5, 2015 #88 Share Posted May 5, 2015 (edited) Tomorrow, Sitka at Noon for our Otter adventure. ;) 11 a.m. - be topside for a narrated approach by Terry Breen The Otter excursion in Sitka was one of my favorites. You can't beat Terry Breen. She is one of the best ship destination speakers I've seen. Also loving all your photos. So nice to see the Navigator looking so good. The Navigator is my 2nd favorite cruise ship. Edited May 5, 2015 by NCCruzQueen
Travelcat2 Posted May 6, 2015 #89 Share Posted May 6, 2015 Just looked up the weather in Sitka and, although I don't trust weather reports, it appears that it was sunny (at least this afternoon). Tomorrow when you go to Hubbard Glacier, it will be C O L D but sunny. You should get some amazing pictures. IMO, the sounds coming from the calving of the glacier is more spectacular than looking at it. Very excited for you to be going there. While some people disagree, Tracy Arm is not as unique and spectacular as Hubbard! Is the show that was delayed from yesterday going to be on tonight? And, are you going? Really loving your adventure on the Navigator:)
computerworks Posted May 6, 2015 Author #90 Share Posted May 6, 2015 Oh, man... the weather in Sitka was spectacular! Clear blue skies and mild temps. Travelcat2 Posted May 6, 2015 #97 Share Posted May 6, 2015 Thank you for posting more photos! The first thing that strikes me about your approach to Sitka is the lack of snow on the mountains. In May, most mountains are still fairly covered in the white stuff. We knew that Alaska suffered from lack of snow this past winter but seeing it makes us see just how little snow they received. Based on what I' seeing, I predict that you will get quite close to Hubbard Glacier. The Navigator is the best ship to be on when there is ice in the water. You will likely be without internet access for a few hours so we'll have to wait to hear about today's adventure. Hope it exceeds expectations! Wendy The Wanderer Posted May 6, 2015 #98 Share Posted May 6, 2015 (edited) Funny, I don't remember much snow in the hills around Sitka when we were there in May in 2012. I'll have to go back and look at my photos. Okay, yes, there was "icing sugar" snow on the sides of the peaks.
