Thank you for your wonderful daily reviews. We have cruised on the Gem twice and will be back in January. Your pictures are great.

Congratulations on your very deserving casino win. DH tries to win each time on the Poker machines but usually just donates.

Not sure what animal that is but cute non-the-less. Bahamas tomorrow with a jaunt over to paradise island. Hope atlantis sells day passes still and if a nice day hitting the water park, if not then just roaming around and picture taking.

Love this "live" report, especially all the photos. I love the Gem! We've been on her 6 times and have another booked on her for next April.

Great report and beautiful photos! I haven't gotten out of my RCI box yet, but am seriously considering a future cruise on NCL. Your review is truly swaying me! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us unfortunate land lubbers!! 😀

Thanks for your detailed report and congratulations on your win. We are going on the Gem in October. Have never been on that ship and have only cruised NCL once about ten years ago. I have a couple questions for which you might know the answers.

What type of tea do they have on board (in particular decaffeinated tea) and is it widely available. I saw you posted that there was 'early morning coffee' available but I did not see tea there.

Which are the free dining venues and which are open for embarkation lunch?

I was confused when looking at your picture of the various restaurants. That paper mentioned a $7.95 fee but I thought that was only for room service.

Thank you and I will be following the remainder of your report. I wish you safe travels and an enjoyable cruise.

It seems to have calmed down quite a bit. Tenders moving along:

Little Norway (never had the pleasure of sailing its mother ship but my wife did years before we married). What a beauty she was.

Thanks niksmom! We love Royal as well, but ncl does alot right. If you get a suite in the haven, which we do not have this time but have in the past, it is a great experience and I dare say better than most other lines upper suite level amenities. Don't want to start a war :) just an opinion.

Either way I would give it a try in any cabin as any cruise is usually a good one :) thanks for checking in!

Thanks cpl! I will answer a few now and find out the rest later:

On embarkation day the buffet, o'sheehans, (i am almost certain they were open) and cagney's for suite guest. I will check if one of the dining rooms were open or not.

The specialty restaurants that charge a fee are pictured next with the pp charge.

The 7.95 is for room service outside of morning coffee I think.

Check back for the teas

Thanks for checking in!
