cruise insurance

For your European cruise I would advise you get some. You can get it from your travel agent, HAL or a private company. Does your Canadian medical insurance cover you in Europe? You might be young enough to think "what can happen to me". Saw a 24 yr. fall on his head playing basketball on board and he was evacuated by U S Coast Guard to southern FL.

There is a site called insuremytrip.com that can give you ideas. Hopefully some of the Canadian HAL cruisers can give you ideas also. Have a great time.

Do your own!

Travel guard or go to Travelinsurance.com.

It will give you all the travel ins companies with the price and comparison!

Doing our insurance for our 2 month holiday in Europe with a cruise on the Eurodam plus renting our apt. In Nice.

We always get ins. for long hauls.

Ck it out.

Any recommendations for cruise insurance?

We use http://www.insuremytrip.com/ and https://www.squaremouth.com/ to search out policies/companies. Both those sites you put in the parameters of what you want covered and they will show you a variety of different policies from different companies that fit the bill for comparison.

Same as mine. All the same.

Anything they do is better than going through the cruise directly.

Thank you all for your input. The HAL quote was out of the question. I am inquiring privite companies.:D

Please be aware the HAL policy is cancellation not travel insurance. While it will cover 'cancel for any reason', the best of HAL's only pays $10,000 for medical. What good is that with a serious illness or accident? The price of the trip is a known amount. Exposure for unexpected medical bills can be huge. T

We use Travel guard too. Ours covers a multitude of possible issues, including cancel for any reason, preexisting, medical, etc. But in order to get that you must purchase it within 2 weeks of booking your trip.

We use travel guard also, never had to use it- but it gives peace of mind, you never know what might happen. If you want the insurance to cover pre existing & cancel for any reason, you need to buy it within 2 weeks of booking your vacation.

We use Allianz thru our TA and have been very satisfied. Had friends medevac'd home from So Africa to FL and Allianz handled absolutely everything without hassle. At our age (as price is age-related) we save quite a bit of $$ over Travel Guard for the better package while the basic package is less for T-G. Best to do a cost and benefit comparison which can be done on a few web sites.

I could swear I saw this same thread by the same OP that was moved. ;)

OP, why not follow the original thread to see if you got some help there?

Also compare those policies with TravelGuard.com

Any recommendations for cruise insurance?

We always purchase insurance from a broker, not cruise line insurance. Medical coverage from the cruise line (in HAL's case, that would only be through platinum coverage) is, in most instances, limited IMHO.

We have purchased many times, with great satisfaction, from the broker with "store" in its name. You talk with one of the principles when you call, and you get honest, detailed straightforward advice.

Below is a list of insurance providers, we typically purchase from travel insured.http://www.frommers.com/tips/health-and-travel-insurance/frommers-coms-top-8-travel-insurance-providers

An opportunity for a teaching/learning moment. I noted your comment about a previous posting of the same question. Since I have never tried to track an "old" post, I decided to give it a try and learn.

So, I clicked on the circle by the poster's screen name on this post - and got a list of his/her previous postings dating back a year. Success - However, I could not find a post by OP before June 8th with this topic. What am I doing wrong as obviously you found such a post?

I appreciate your help in my CC learning process.
