Tinkerbell1030 Posted June 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2015 I just received a text, phone call from anonymous caller, and an email that looked sketchy. The all were about what times we need to be at the port to get on board the ship, but the anynomus caller and the email are what freaked me out. The email had a link to click stating proof that you received the message. It was not emailed from royal. It was an email from everbridge.net. Anyone else have this problem or know if it is a scam or not?

Desert Cruizers Posted June 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 12, 2015 (edited) Any emails I have received from Royal come from Royal or Royal Web Support such as my notification to Print our Set Sail Pass. I have never been asked to click a link to prove I received the message, but then I have not received a Text message so really can't verify that. Lynnees Posted June 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 12, 2015 Possible I'm wrong but they do that when people are sailing on the weekend following because there is an issue with the ship. Usually needs sanitizing.
juiceman Posted June 12, 2015 #6 Share Posted June 12, 2015 I just received a text, phone call from anonymous caller, and an email that looked sketchy. The email had a link to click stating proof that you received the message. It was not emailed from royal. It was an email from everbridge.net. Anyone else have this problem or know if it is a scam or not? No, it's a legit message. RCI has been scheduling boarding times on ships for a while now. It is supposedly in order to prevent large crowds from boarding all at once. Some ports/ships enforce them & some do not.
Tinkerbell1030 Posted June 12, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted June 12, 2015 There are real. They send them out all the time. I have never had an email that wasn't from Royal though discussing the cruise information.
CVU Posted June 12, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 12, 2015 No, it's a legit message. RCI has been scheduling boarding times on ships for a while now. It is supposedly in order to prevent large crowds from boarding all at once. Some ports/ships enforce them & some do not. We both get them at the same time on our Cell phone and it comes up showing 111111s as the phone number.
Ken at the beach Posted June 12, 2015 #9 Share Posted June 12, 2015 They are legit. They are sent out for select ships only which is why many have not received them.
Ocean Boy Posted June 12, 2015 #10 Share Posted June 12, 2015 I have received this e-mail in the past, and also received a recorded phone call, but never was there a request for me to click on a link to verify that I had received the message. Big_G Posted June 12, 2015 #11 Share Posted June 12, 2015 Everbridge is a mass notification company that Royal uses. They also provide services similar to reverse 911 to public safety. I've received notifications with and without a request to acknowledge receipt of the message. It's absolutely legit. http://www.everbridge.com/
joepeka Posted June 13, 2015 #12 Share Posted June 13, 2015 We both get them at the same time on our Cell phone and it comes up showing 111111s as the phone number. I have received this e-mail in the past, and also received a recorded phone call, but never was there a request for me to click on a link to verify that I had received the message. We got emails (with a link or button, forget which, to click acknowledging receipt) and phone messages about five days prior to our last cruise. We ignored the phone messages and deleted the emails without acknowledging. It's legit - it's the usual communication stating their preferred time that you arrive at the ship on embarkation day. Ignore it.
cb at sea Posted June 13, 2015 #13 Share Posted June 13, 2015 Ignore their arrival time suggestion...unless they tell you to get to port at 11:30am.

monorail81 Posted June 13, 2015 #16 Share Posted June 13, 2015 We got a bunch of emails, phone calls, and texts last year when they had to change the Freedom's sailing we were going to be on because the prop had problems that needed to be fixed. They wanted us to reply and we didn't. Everything was fine. No need to reply.
Spurschick Posted June 13, 2015 #17 Share Posted June 13, 2015 Legit. If you acknowledge they only contact you again if there is a change in info. Otherwise you might kep getting the texts/emails until you sail.
