I knew what my tier was when I sailed in April and received my tier benefits.

Has anyone received info on the comp cruise that goes along with tier level?

I was hoping to apply it to either my september 2018 or march 2019 cruise which I already have booked

Mine was lower (choice) than what they told me/I received on the Oasis in April. Even confirmed my “prime” level via discussion with CR rep 2 weeks ago when I was trying to reprice my next cruise.

Somehow not surprised by their screw up.

Let’s see if they make it right.

Only received an email for my husband who only played $20 one time. They do have him at choice. We use the same email address so hope that did not screw up my email. At the end of the email, in small print, it does have his name and C&A number. Still waiting ....

You may want to call. In my email was this:

13. Club Royale offers Members the opportunity to reach various Tier Levels.

. a. For Tier Credits earned on or before April 1, 2018, the following rules shall apply:

. b. For Tier Credits earned after April 1, 2019, the following rules shall apply.

. i. A Program Year means the period from April 1 of a calendar year through March 31 of the following calendar year;

. ii. Tier Credits earned during one Program Year will be used by Club Royale to determine the Member’s Tier Level status for that SAME Program Year;

. iii. At the beginning of each Program Year, the number of Tier Credits held by each Member shall be reset to zero.

Well that's as clear as mud! What rules for 13a? What about credits earned between April 1, 2018 and April 1, 2019? Do we all REALLY start with NO tier (and zero credits) on April 1, 2019?

The whole concept of Jan to Dec as an earning year, and April to March as the reward year, has gone!

This is crazy!

I never saw anything about January - December as an earning year. What I was told, and which matched the tier I received the 1st year was going to be July 2016- December 2017. The second year of the program your tier would be determined from January 1, 2018-March 31, 2019 and after that it would be April 1st - March 31st.

I'd be OK with that too. The web site indicates that the tier level for April 2019 to March 2020 (and onward)will be determined in the "SAME" program year, not in any prior period.

Of course the simplest explanation is merely that the web site information is wrong! After all they only had a year or so to get the wording right...

When I booked a cruise the day before we received this email, going forward CR told me the level I earned in the prior year would determine the level for the next year. Not surprised they are consistently inconsistent.... Lol.

This sounds correct, if I earn 30,000 points in 18 then in 19 I would be at the signature level. Level determined with play between apr of one year until march of the next.

That's not the way I'm reading it. See 13.bii and iii - Tier credit earned in one year will be used to determine tier in that same program year. At the beginning of each program year, tier credits will reset to zero.

So does that mean for each year you would need to reach 2500 points on your first cruise before you would receive free drinks.

When I had asked I was told you would accumulate points from April 1st through March 31st and the tier you reach would be your tier for the following April 1 thought March 31st, but that's not what the letter said.

That's the way it reads, although as far as the drinks and 5% fee waiver, it seems hard to believe they wouldn't continue to base those perks on the last cruise. Perhaps the Casino Host will have some discretion with those, it's anyone's guess.

That's why a much simpler explanation is that the information posted (and in the letter) is just wrong!

Otherwise any credits earned from January 2018 to March 2019 wouldn't count for anything!

Separately in a call to CR this morning I learned that ALL the tier 1 (Masters) cruises had been 'loaded into the accounts' last night. But... mine wasn't there

I just talked to a CR rep. Didn't receive an email even tho my DH (who uses the $20 I put in the machine for him once or twice) got one yesterday!!! He did verify my tier which I had already used on 4 cruises in April and May on the Grandeur during the 'pilot'. He said I didn't really need the email.

He also verified my tier for next year (starting April 1, 2019) based on my casino play on the 8 cruises I have completed since January of this year. So ... with that said ... and as Gaylemh has stated in an earlier post, I was told everyone is being grandfathered in ... your tier starting April 1 of this year to March 31, 2019 was based on casino play from July, 2016 to December, 2017. Your tier starting April 1, 2019 will be based on casino play from January, 2018 to March 31, 2019 and then yearly from there (April 1 - March 31). So your tier for a current year will be recalculated each year based on casino play from the prior year's play.

I read the email. It doesn't say this.

Yes, I guess it is too much to expect the terms and conditions, that took 3 years to write, to be accurate. Someone had posted a link to the T&C page (which has since been corrected) a week or two ago, they had referred to tier credits as "miles". That should have been my first clue. :DOh boy!

You were in land long enough to call them? 😂 Did you get the email? Wondering if they are doing them in alphabetical order or something. We still have not received anything but do know are levels.

Alphabetical order by first or last name? OH, my last name is the same as DH and he got his email. Hmmmm ... our first names are only 2 letters apart. LOL I thought maybe since I use the same email address for both of us that his email got sent and mine went into the black hole!!

Yes, I thought I'd use this week to resolve things.

No email, but I have NEVER had email from CR, so that didn't surprise me!

Hi Colin. How are you doing? Here's what I "know" so far.

I just called to book our "prime" free cruise. And neither my wife nor I are in the system for a free cruise certificate. They have us down as prime, but just not down for the free cruise.

The lady I talked to was as helpful as anyone could be. She could see we were both prime members, but not down for the free cruise certificate. I told her we didn't use it yet, and she said this all just started yesterday. She allowed me to book a cabin with just the port charges and fees. But the cabin is on the invoice for full price. The only thing I paid was the port charges and fees which I can get refunded if anything goes sideways.

The sail date I wanted is in July of 2018, so not much availability.

I was also told that they would give a $500 credit towards any sailing. In lieu of the free cruise. If I wanted to upgrade.

We will see.

Hi rt. I'm fine. The 500 credit is consistent with an 'lnside' certificate I guess.

What the F...ine mess has Club Royale done this time?

I just found my email in my spam folder, and it's not what I would expect. It says I'm a "CHOICE" tier member. On my cruise in early November 2017, I earned about 12,000 points, and I'm not counting the points I earned in March 2017 as well. I find it hard to believe that that would be considered to be in the bottom tier.

...

Oh, I see. The top of the message says "Dear Bryan". Sigh... This was supposed to go to someone else. I wonder where my notification email went.

Yay, Royal Caribbean IT department!

Well that's as clear as mud! What rules for 13a?

I don't think they have proofreaders on staff. On page two, they have three email addresses listed to contact Royal Caribbean regarding a few things, but...

 • "For residents of other countries, please contact privacy@rccl.com to obtain the applicable Privacy Policy." However, if you click that email address, it actually sends mail to global-privacy@rccl.com. Which is correct?
 • "... by contacting Royal Caribbean International at ClubRoyalerccl.com." This isn't a valid email address. Worse, if you click it, you get an email address that's plastered with underscores.
 • "... by contacting Royal Caribbean International at _@rccl.com." Technically, this is a valid email address, but if you click it, you get the same underscore-laden email address as the previous email address.

After reading yesterday that many received their email and I didn’t (checked spam folder), I called. After being on hold for around 30 minutes, I reached someone and was told that my level is Signature but he had no idea why I didn’t receive the email. He requested a duplicate to be sent that I should received “in a few days”.

Based on what’s posted here, can’t wait to be confused! Wonder when someone will release information that’s easy to understand. I feel sorry for the Casino Royale phone reps. I get the impression that they get as much information as we do.

It says I'm a "CHOICE" tier member.

I called, and apparently I'm "Signature". That seems higher than I would have expected, but I'd rather err on that side. :)

I don't know whether Bryan's profile has my email address (I wouldn't be surprised as it's happened before), but my profile does have my email address, so that doesn't explain why I didn't get my own membership tier email.

I am also signature and did not receive an email yet. The CR rep said they are sending out emails in 'waves'. My DH is 'choice' and received his email. Could be they sent out 'choice' and 'prime' first. The rest to follow? Or not!!
