That's the problem - I asked if I could have the casino rate and forego the $1,000 certificate (actually, I have two - one is mine for $1,000 and one form my husband, who only plays for short periods at table games). He told that was the casino rate - the same price that I booked at on the ship (which was way higher than it used to be. Something weird is happening with CR and I don't care for it - feeling very disrespected and un-appreciated. All that rep wanted to do was get me off the phone ASAP. Swiss (P.S. He also never mentioned a free cruise for my tier level)

I was told that if both a husband and wife receive certificates on a cruise, they can apply both certs to book a cruise. Has this changed? Keep calling CR until you get someone who will take the time to help you. You can always hang up and call back. Not sure how bookings are handled that have been made on the ship and not through CR first.

Don't forget that you only have 30 days from the issue date on the certs to use them whether you use them on a listed cruise on the certificate or use the money value.

I am so confused (and sounds like many of you are as well). Just returned from a 10 day Anthem cruise and received a certificate for $1,000 off future cruise (balcony) and learned that I am Prime. I booked next year's cruise while onboard and was told I could switch it to Casino Royale and get the CR rates (as I have also done in the past, upon my return home. I called this afternoon and after a lengthy wait, finally got someone. This rep told me he could apply my cruise certificate to the res. I already had. I then asked about getting the casino rate first and then applying the $1,000. He told me that I can't have the casino rate AND the $1,000 off for my certificate - either one, not both. I have not heard this before. BTW, prior to sailing this last week I called CR and asked about my tier level, I was told I was sent an email. I never got one and asked what my tier level meant (Prime). The rep told me to "google it". Seriously??? Bottom line is this: were any of you able to get the casino rate AND apply your certificates you received on board from your play? Feeling pretty disgusted with Royal and CR right now. To make it worse, booked a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit GLS ....GRRRR..... Thanks for any info, Swiss

They stopped giving dollars off casino rates a while ago. You’re not alone.

As far as I’m concerned, their casino rates suck. I see little to no discount ! If you call CR in the morning you will usually be on hold for a long time and get a new person. Usually Caribbean accented lady (there are a few). Hang up on them. Otherwise you will be frustrated with someone who doesn’t know a cruise ship from a life boat. Call in the late afternoon.

Unfortunately, it's true. You cannot combine ANY casino discounts with the single exception of being able to stack certificates from husband and wife to the same booking. No more real casino rates (at least, not for my level - Prime) like in the past. The only casino discount that I have seen is a mere 5% off full price. Pathetic.

Just before I left on our Anthem cruise (ten days ago), I called CR to find out what my tier was b/c I had not received any notification via email or snail mail. After a lengthy wait, I was informed I was "Prime". When I asked what the benefits for Prime were I was told "google it"!!! She also told me I didn't get an email b/c my computer was probably "blocking" it. BTW, I never receive any emails from CR in the last ten years and no one could figure out why. I did get a letter in my stateroom upon boarding that told me I was Prime and my sea pass also stated that. Yesterday (late afternoon) the young man I spoke with told me I already was getting the casino rate - then five minutes later, he said I couldn't get the casino rate b/c I was using certificates. Too much double talk for me. I think I would rather lose the $500 and just forget about cruising RC any further. The couple that booked with us for next year feel the same - it's as if they are purposely trying to throw out all the CR players after years of play. I never would have booked for next year onboard had I known there were no longer casino rates as they were. This brought the cost of the exact same cabin up by over $4,000. No thank you, RC, moving on! Swiss

Looking for comments from fellow cruisers. I phoned into CR last week about my "free" prime sailing. I had checked the Royal Caribe regular booking offers, and OBC was the current promotion. I asked the rep about a sailing, and if I get the current OBC ? Answer was NO. I commented that with NCL a casino booking gets what ever the current promtion is.

I did not book. I have a wait and see attitude.

Does this seem right the no OBC ?

Yes, no OBC when booking a free cruise through the casino, even when paying to upgrade. I have been able to keep my OBC from booking on board when applying a dollar off certificate.

On the Mariner now.

No regular QUICK HITS.

Not happy

ALL new slot machines.

They do have the card quick hits. But you have to play $4 a hit to be able to win the money.

Slow casino.

Not many people playing.

Not all tables full.

They have a $6 BJ table.

Doesn't normally happen on 3/4 night cruises at night.

Saving money this cruise.

I was so excited to have Mariner come to PC next year, not now for the casino.

Oh well, I'll be saving money next year :-).

Ship is beautiful.

Aft elevators are super slow even at 1:00 AM

Who is the Host on Mainer. Thanks,

We get our chance on her in a few weeks.

On the repo it was Miha Kljun. He's a hoot

We had a lot of weird Chinese games.

Plus their weren't a lot of slots due to high roller sections. Makes sense so many new machines

I have never sailed on Mariner but I would be very surprised if there is not an Ultimate Texas Holdem game there. They have this game even on the small ships....at least, all that I have ever been on.

I spoke with the casino host and he said YES 2 ultimate Texas holdem tables

Has anyone from the UK received emails from the casino saying what level they are and what they can get? I only ring them when I want to apply a cert off a cruise so haven't heard anything since early May when I got the standard "you'll know when we know" speech.

I'm from Canada, but I have been told that anyone outside of the US, does not receive offers or emails from the Casino, unless you have a US address on file :( I have been waiting for my verification.

That's what I was told originally, then in May was told with the new scheme roll out everyone will receive emails but only US addresses will receive snail mail. I don't get how the company can spam me with an email every other day about cruises I've shown no interest in but can't send me an email with real information. I get emails from US land casinos every day even though I only visit them once a year but the rccl ships which I spend months sailing on every year can't be bothered.[emoji35] [emoji35]

We had a letter in our cabin on our last cruise telling Laura she was Prime. Also a matrix showing tiers and benefits.

But nothing printed on Seapass [emoji848]

I’ll be back n Mariner TOMORROW but I wont be meeting the host. Not gambling this weekend. Just enjoying the ship for the short time we have. The way things have been going lately with CR gives me little incentive to gamble that much.

If your level isn't on your seapass, you need to see him. [emoji6]

If you go to the cage, they sometimes can put your sticker on your card. In the past, my VIP sticker has already been on my sea pass when I checked in at the pier and I received an envelope with my internet code. My level was not printed on my sea pass card because the ship did not have that capability yet. No need to find the casino host. However, I do realize each ship does things differently.
