mugwood Posted June 27, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2015 Hi, can anyone advise on the possibility of a white night party? Not that I am looking for one, just deciding on what to throw in the case. Thanks.
excitedofharpenden Posted June 27, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2015 I wasn't aware that Celebrity did White Nights? Isn't that Azamara? Phil
mugwood Posted June 27, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted June 27, 2015 Yes, Azamara do white nights. I was trying to establish if Celebrity did.
morbihan Posted June 27, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 27, 2015 There was one when we sailed in May. Not a soul there. Might have warmed up later though. When we were in bed!
excitedofharpenden Posted June 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 27, 2015 Didn't even realise Celebrity did them. I'm on Constellation in September and hope they do one. I always enjoy them on Azamara. Phil
Rare Azulann Posted June 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted June 27, 2015 Been on three Med Celebrity cruises. Never had a" white night" event.
dabear Posted June 27, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 27, 2015 I recall that Celebrity had white nights events years ago but it has been discontinued more than 5 years ago.
cle-guy Posted June 27, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 27, 2015 I haven't done a Med cruise, but 8 of my 11 cruises (TA's, Bermuda and various Caribbean) have had a "white night" theme on them. My Connie TA to Rome this spring had one, Summit has one called Frozen where they really do decorate and immerse folks in it. Did that one 2 times last summer to Bermuda, and again in January out of San Juan. Normally it's just a night around the pool deck late evening, not well attended, but Frozen on Summit was in the Sky Lounge, and well attend ended. Rare hcat Posted June 27, 2015 #12 Share Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) White clothes, at least a white top or sun dress (gals)...to dinner and later for the party...lots of fun if staff and pax join in!! We've had them...hit or miss, soft announcement in the daily.....on Cunard they list all special events in cruise docs they send youm so you can come prepared! best white nights were in Greece on the pool deck...great party.. also inside on Mercury with mini light show balloons, face paint for kiddies, dessert buffet .... very festive, then into late hrs for the adults.....miss that ship! Snit13 Posted June 27, 2015 #14 Share Posted June 27, 2015 13 cruises on X and have never heard of this. Is only on TA. European cruises? When on Summit to Bermuda never heard of one? Maybe I don't read daily as well as I thought.
Dunmore2 Posted June 27, 2015 #15 Share Posted June 27, 2015 We had a black/white night on the Constellation in the Med this past April/May. Passengers were encourage to dress in one or both of these colors. There was a party at 10pm,but we didn't attend.
mugwood Posted June 27, 2015 Author #16 Share Posted June 27, 2015 It looks as if the answer to my question is quite as black or white as I had hoped:D
ozark74 Posted June 27, 2015 #17 Share Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) Have never had a white night party on any of our Celebrity cruises or any other line. On Costa they had a toga night. Looking forward to Azamara in a couple of months because they do have white night parties. Edited June 27, 2015 by ozark74
skoeper Posted June 27, 2015 #18 Share Posted June 27, 2015 I've been on 13 cruises with various cruiselines and have never heard of a White Night party. X is our favorite cruiseline and the one we've cruised the most. What have we been missing? You just wear white and then what? Stand/sit around and have a drink and that's it? Azamara's White Nights are excellent. They hold them on evenings when the ship is in port until late and providing the weather is ok they'll have a BBQ and food on deck and set up dining tables al fresco. The Cruise Director and entertainment cast then put on a singing/dance show on the pool stage and get guests up to dance. Great fun. Lots of work setting it up on deck.
