TTU cruiser Posted August 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2015 Got off the Glory just over a month ago. We had late seating, it was nice not having to rush getting ready for dinner on days we were in port. They have two seatings for the shows, one for early dining and one for late dining. That way nobody misses out. Also, if you choose one show time and stick to it for the whole week, you will see a different show for each night. Sixtytwo Posted August 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2015 The shows will be scheduled so both settings will be able to attend. Not a problem!
RiotAct Posted August 10, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 10, 2015 The shows will be scheduled so both settings will be able to attend. Not a problem! yep, exactly. If you have the early dinner seating you'll go to the late show, and vice-versa.
caribsun Posted August 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 10, 2015 On some ships they repeat the shows.
Brighton Line Posted August 10, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 10, 2015 On some ships they repeat the shows. Some ships rotate the shows and do not do the same show for both seatings on the same day but will make sure each sitting can see the show at their time on the cruise. quickrate Posted August 10, 2015 #8 Share Posted August 10, 2015 We love late because the staff does not seem as rushed and we are wine drinkers and like to take our time with wine and dinner. Also, we don't feel rushed on port days. can get back on, relax, take a nap if we want to and get ready for dinner at our leisure. shows are timed so no one misses them. sandij Posted August 10, 2015 #9 Share Posted August 10, 2015 We prefer first seating, don't like still being in the dinning room at 10 pm. They usually do two showing of the main shows to accomodate both dinner seatings.
zoof26 Posted August 10, 2015 #10 Share Posted August 10, 2015 First seating vs second seating? Which is best? Don't want to miss the shows! 7day glory You can see the shows with either. Look at your port times. Do you have enough time to get ready with early dining or is late dining better for you? We prefer anytime dining so we aren't rushed and go on our own schedule. lennythenose Posted August 10, 2015 #12 Share Posted August 10, 2015 I prefer late seating for all of the reasons mentioned above BUT we have started getting early seating because we have kids in Circle C and Club O2. Many of their evening activities start before the late seating ends.
simplelife Posted August 10, 2015 #13 Share Posted August 10, 2015 We like early, for many reasons. Not only is it about the time we usually eat, but we think it gives more flexibility for the evening. Though it is true that they do both an early and a late show, much of the other other entertainment (bands playing a certain times, piano bar, etc.) seems to be taking place while late seating is going on (starting @8:00). When we eat early, we have more options open. We can enjoy after-dinner entertainment and still retire early (or stay up for the late activities if we choose). Many who prefer late dining say it gives them more time to get ready for dinner, but only if they are going to forego the show (which is early for late diners). Another option is to do Anytime dining, but for those who prefer fixed AND enjoy entertainment, I think early is the way to go,
wampuscat7 Posted August 10, 2015 #14 Share Posted August 10, 2015 If it matters to you, it seems there are more children at the early seating.
evandbob Posted August 10, 2015 #15 Share Posted August 10, 2015 Since the midnight adult comedy shows are the only ones I would even consider worthwhile, late dining suits me fine.
NikkiJ1983 Posted August 10, 2015 #16 Share Posted August 10, 2015 We do early seating because we like to have the evenings open to us. My group is full of drinkers so once we get to the shows we like drink and then usually end up at one of the little bars socializing. We don't like to drink before dinner so seeing the shows with no drinks doesn't appeal to us:)

If we get hungry late afternoon we grab a slice of pizza or some other small snack to tide us over.

We go to the late show all the time, just move along at dinner on those nights. Funny at home we would never eat at 8:30 or so, on out first cruise were disappointed to get late seating, however found it was great as no rush after returning to the ship, the only real problem was that there was a rush if we wanted to get to a show (but we don't do many) and going to bed with a full stomach. love my grandkids Posted August 11, 2015 #22 Share Posted August 11, 2015 Since the midnight adult comedy shows are the only ones I would even consider worthwhile, late dining suits me fine. The problem is the first adult show starts at 9 30 or 10 so with the lines to get in late seating misses that one.
