I hate to hijack your thread but we will be boarding the Jewel on Sat and was wondering if there have been any wine packages offered on this leg just to give us an idea of what to expect. I hate that Royal discontinued these fleet wide but have heard that each individual ship may offer one. Hope you are all having a great time and keeping the ship in good shape for the next cruise.

I don't know about a wine package, I can ask around. Maybe someone else on board now knows the answer to that?

This evening was formal night. After dinner (Saffron menu) we made sure we got our picture taken in front of the green staircase in the centrum as I think this is the last of these staircases and it may be removed during overhaul next year. :(

After a visit to the appease the casino gods we went to the Coral Theatre to see the headliner, comedian Wayne Cotter. We was funny, not as funny as John Joseph last week but entertaining. :)

Got our invite to the Top Tier event. For this week it is day 3 (tomorrow) at 10:30 in the Coral Theatre. Guess they got lazy this week. Last week they held two events in the Safari Club.

Jewel offered a Wine Package but it wasn't anything like the previous Wine and Dine pkg. I think there were 4 reds and 4 whites. Can't remember pricing. They also offered 20% off a couple of different wines each night. You have to ask about that one. We thought that was a better deal than the package.

We heard that a "new" Wine Package is in the works. Not sure when it will be introduced.

Where actually does the ship tender from in Monterey? Pictures look fairly close to Lovers Point. My DH went to HS in Monterey a d we go every 2-3 years. Have friends there that will meet us and I want to eat at two of my favorite places, Rosine's in downtown Monterey and Sand Bar & Grill on the commercial wharf. Looking to book next May. As our friends say that Monterey. PG, and Carmel is God's country. It is beautiful!!

I am not familiar with geographical points in Monterey. Maybe someone else can answer that.

Thanks so much for that information. I'll be sure to question our waiter about the different wines. My husband is pretty picky when it comes to wines.

PCWalton1 please take good care of that cabin. That's the one we will be occupying on Sat when we board.

Have fun, all.

Joan

It's a great cabin, nice and quiet. Close to the elevators too. If Solomon is your cabin attendant too, you are getting one of the best. :)

The tender dock in Monterey is on Fisherman's Wharf. Sand Bar & Grill restaurant are on the Municipal Wharf. We walked from Fisherman's Wharf along the Coastal Trail to downtown Monterey.

Looks like the weather isn't as great on the 2nd go around. I am glad we got such great weather on the first itinerary. :) We had Solomon too. He was ok... Denny on Enchantment is the bomb!

If you are referring to Santa Barbara yes the weather was not add good. However, San Francisco has been fantastic so far.

For this stop in San Francisco we bought tickets for the hop on hop off bus. The plan today was to just ride it all the way around the route without getting off today.

Tomorrow we plan to get off at Union Square then walk over to Chinatown then ride back from there this cutting off most of the route.

As I mentioned earlier this was a great day to ride on the top level on the bus.
