What tip do you leave?

It's my understanding that the extra fee you pay is the tip. Leave extra if so desired, but not required.

Incorrect understanding. Part of the $35 upcharge for the Steakhouse goes to CCL and an undetermined part is given to the waitstaff.

CC posters have been wondering for years what the actual division is, and Carnival has never said.

So a gratuity is included, and you are free to tip extra or not as you see fit.

Are people really leaving 30% tip on top of the standard gratuity of 15% that has already been added? I understand another 5%-10% but 30%? Your waitstaff is lucky!

when did they start adding the tip to the bill? I haven't been on CCL in a few years and it was never added before.

This question has gone round and round on the boards for years. Just let your conscience be your guide. Personally, I make a good living. I like to leave the impression that Americans are kind and generous people, so I tip accordingly. If I am being foolish, so what? It is my money.
