stipmom Posted October 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2015 To cancel and rebook? Can you do it yourself or do you need to go through your TA like on some other cruise lines.? Looking at a May 2017 sailing. Thanks
TrulyBlonde Posted October 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2015 I always call my TA when I discover any extra perks added as well as reductions. I have had the price reductions completed as long as it was prior to final payment.
Rare LHT28 Posted October 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2015 If you booked via a TA call them
Paulchili Posted October 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2015 Also, I believe that your cabin category has to be still available to get the "new" reduced price.
grmmybtty Posted October 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 12, 2015 Also, I believe that your cabin category has to be still available to get the "new" reduced price. That's what we found out too when I asked our TA about the added benefits. Our cabin category was wait listed and in order to get the new benefits I would have to cancel and rebook into a cabin class with availability. Travelcat2 Posted October 12, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 12, 2015 Actually, a good TA would keep track of price changes and would notify you.
stipmom Posted October 12, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted October 12, 2015 Never had a travel agent that notified me of price changes.
Barrheadlass Posted October 12, 2015 #8 Share Posted October 12, 2015 On my trip last year I'd made final payment before it was due, shortly after there was a $300 pp price reduction. I'd booked direct, so I called and got $600 of obc. Was not able to get a refund instead, but the obc worked fine...although we left the ship with over $100 still to spend. We were able to donate it to the crew. (We had prepaid gratuities.)
Rare ronrick1943 Posted October 12, 2015 #9 Share Posted October 12, 2015 Yes, I agree a good TA should be looking after you and let you know before it's even public. Rick
Rare ORV Posted October 12, 2015 #10 Share Posted October 12, 2015 Never had a travel agent that notified me of price changes. That's why you need a good one. Wish we could talk about it, can't according to the rules.
Flatbush Flyer Posted October 12, 2015 #11 Share Posted October 12, 2015 Though not always a sure thing, it's also important that you check with TA about any "after final payment" adjusts to your original booking (w/o losing perks).
StanandJim Posted October 12, 2015 #12 Share Posted October 12, 2015 That's why you need a good one. Wish we could talk about it, can't according to the rules. It's perfectly permissible to discuss the ins and outs of which qualities make, or do not make, a Travel Agent desirable. Recommending a specific Agent is the "no no".
