4ofusreadytocruise Posted February 2, 2016 #26 Share Posted February 2, 2016 For those wondering if this is valid on all cruises already booked or just on future/current bookings I had this reply from RCCL today. I had asked specifically whether it would be valid on my cruise (booked 8 mths ago) and whether they would be interchangeable: "Thank you for your email. We apologize for the delay in our response. Guests booked in Boardwalk and Central Park View Balcony staterooms will be able to enjoy Eat Drink Play complimentary amenities. However, these amenities are specific to the type of category a guest is booked in and all reservations must be made onboard as we currently to do not accept lunch reservations pre cruise. We kindly ask you to inquire once onboard at the Guest Services Desk with your request to change amenities with the Boardwalk Balcony amenities. We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause" Sounds good to me! Other than the line ups at Customer Service that is. I am just happy to be getting an extra perk. These cruises have gotten so much pricier in the last couple years, every little bit helps!
Lloyd555 Posted August 22, 2016 #27 Share Posted August 22, 2016 Has anyone experienced the Eat Drink Play promotion yet? What do you get (info, voucher, etc.) in your cabin when you first board that is related to it?
Doug S Posted August 22, 2016 #28 Share Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) ttle of wine would be $3-4.00 The costs of a bottle of wine would be $3. to 4.00 for RCI! Sugar water is very cheap! So revenue/profits would increase for RCI! It's a good deal for all! I think the poster was looking at the revenue side (how much a guest would pay if they ordered that bottle or bought by the glass), not the cost side (how much RCI pays per bottle). RCI is out the potential revenues, plus the actual cost of the bottle, so $3-4 is not the only skin in the game. Comping the bottle takes away possible revenue. But that is assuming the guest would shell out for more drinks if the bottle were not offered free. Edited August 22, 2016 by Doug S
rpp77 Posted August 22, 2016 #29 Share Posted August 22, 2016 It hasn't started yet. "Starting 5 November (Oasis and Harmony of the Seas) or 6 November (Allure of the Seas) guests, staying in balcony staterooms overlooking the Boardwalk or Central Park, will get the new EAT • DRINK • PLAY complimentary amenities." nelblu Posted August 22, 2016 #31 Share Posted August 22, 2016 It looks, although not noted in their promo, that it goes for cruises thru Dec. 31. '17. Got 3 CP cabins on Allure for Easter '18 and was not able to bring it up.

4ofusreadytocruise Posted October 16, 2016 #33 Share Posted October 16, 2016 Hi there. I was speaking to a rep at Royal Caribbean about something else today and asked about this. I was told they are not interchangeable, but that once on the ship customer service might do an "exchange." They couldn't put this in my booking information though. rpp77 Posted October 17, 2016 #37 Share Posted October 17, 2016 Just got off the phone with Royal, said as of right now this promo is set to last throughout 2017 and that it is combinable with either C&A discount or $200 OBC per balcony. Also, you can "Mix & Match". I quoted 2 Central Park rooms and the rep said I could choose the Wine package for one and the Johnny Rockets package for the other room, since one room would be all minors. I called about a month ago and re-confirmed that we would be able to "Mix & Match" the offerings. The rep on the phone from Royal said I might have to go to the pursers office once I get aboard to do so, but that it shouldn't be an issue to swap out packages. I'm sure once they actually get this promo rolling and see the need for mixing & matching, it won't be an issue. Like I previously stated, we booked connecting rooms and one room is all minors. I can't see them taking a stand and forcing us take a second bottle of wine for a room where the oldest occupant is 12 years old.

It may be your perspective, but not all would agree it favors the Boardwalk balconies. Sent from my SM-G930V using Forums mobile app

As for Rock Climbing Wall, FINALLY I will make sure to attempt the rock wall! I chicken out each time I approach it. An exclusive session should help. Edited October 17, 2016 by Lloyd555

There are only 2 of us for Johnny Rockets for 4, we don't drink sodas, and certainly aren't climbing any rock wall. However, DH loves Italian food, we both drink wine and we are physically able to gamble.

dogsambam Posted October 23, 2016 #44 Share Posted October 23, 2016 We have 2 boardwalk balconies on the Harmony in December. I like the perk. Unexpected treat. We always buy the sofa package for the kids. And the private rock climbing session will be amazing. We also tend to get a meal at johnny rockets so it works for us. Curious to see if the do let a swap. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
